Question Stock Radio

Is it possible to hook up an amp and subs to your stock radio? A few guys said i have to replace the head unit, but i dont want to replace that just yet, i just wanna add my subs they my friend gave me, while i save for the head unit i really want. So if any one knows if you can, that would help, thank you.

yes, if your amp has a high level input besides RCAs. otherwise i think not. but beware the high level sounds like a$$ cuz it pushes all sound thru the sub not just low level sound, ie bass

ya you can , just need to buy a rca jack adapter (at like radio shack)and a amp wiring kit(or whatever there called , at like walmart), but i highly recommend not splicing in and putting that on , just save up and get a hd with pre outs , if you keep the stock radio your subs will sound really bad and not even close to full power.
its not worth all the work to hook up to the stock radio cause you'll end up hating it and changing everything out in a week,
knowing from experience.

just make sure you buy a good quality one or you will be sorry. expect to spend 45-90 for a good one. its the cheap ones that sound like crap. Ive listen to systems that good quality ones and the sounded nice. He ended up hitting a 143db too. db drag. not bad for a factory deck with a $45 line out converter. cant remember what else he was running though.
