With auto start, you must have an auto trans. I got a cheapo CodeAlarm, and it's been good actually. No issues to mention; Circuit City did the install which now that I look back at it I could've done it. LOL

It is recommended that you have auto i think. I have heard of man transmissions with auto start, though i have never seen one. I would just make sure you ALWAYS put the ebrake on, and not start it when you werent looking at it. Though it is a risk.

I dont know how you would bypass the clutch unless it is a switch like a stoplight switch, that registers when you push it in electronically.

Any way i had one of these, and if you put it in yourself, it is pretty reasonably priced. Easy to install as well. Auto start and alarm. ---> http://www.commandoalarms.com/itm30032.htm

Has the 2 way pager on it, that tells you if your door is open, or your car is bumped. Works through the back of most stores, not in malls.

Yeah, you are correct...you can install an auto-start alarm on a 5/6 sp; but if you don't install it yourself, good luck finding a retail establishment to do it for you! CC definitely won't, I asked.

Well, with my Compustar, I have to put the car in neutral, footbrake on, and pull up the e-brake. The brain unit will start making a sound, telling you that it is ready to be in reservation mode. Then turn off the car, and even once the key is out, the car will run. Once you exit the car, and close the door, the car will shut off. Then you can remote start when you need it. I guess that is one way that you never forget the car in a gear....

^Sounds like a good method. I chose CC to do my alarm install for two reasons...one : because I bought it there and they worked me deal. Second : they offer to swap the alarm out of the old car and into the new one free of charge. So within the next couple months this'll come in handy! Bye bye lancer, hello something else with more power! LOL
