I'm gettin ready to order sound deadening also and you said you ordered 100^2 ft and I was wondering what all you covered. I really only wanna do my trunk, trunk lid, and I might do under the carpet where the seats are, but im not sure if I am yet. I was wondering if 100^2 ft would be overkill for me and if I should just order 50^2 ft.

i covered my trunk (1 layer), trunk lid (2-3 layers), under the back seats (1 layer), all my doors (1 layer each), and thats it so far. after all that, i have about half a roll left or so, so im guessing i used about 70-75 sq ft. check out my cardomain, there are pictures of it all. i need to do the trunk again and under the floor carpet once i get a lot of time haha and for the trunk, every single inch is covered. i took out everything i could take out and covered every single area I could get to. and its not about if you need 100 sq ft, because I know i didnt, but its a really good deal and it will come in handy if you decide to do more than 1 layer anywhere, and you will have extra when you are done if you want to do even more, like if you upgrade your system!

also, i do not like those trunk kits, speaker kits, door kits, etc. because they give you a preset amount for those areas. not EVERY trunk is the same size, not EVERY door is the same size, etc. if you buy a big bulk roll, you are guaranteed to have enough for whatever you are doing.

here is the link to check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/100-FatMat-Xtrem...QQcmdZViewItem

I think I'm just going to order the 50^2 ft bulk pack from fatmat instead for now because I dont even know if I'm going to do anything other than the trunk and lid and maybe rear seats. If I decide to do more, I can just order more.

trunk lid (2-3 layers

i need to do the trunk again

for the trunk, every single inch is covered. i took out everything i could take out and covered every single area I could get to.

I know, the trunk rattles like crazy. I have a rattle on the back left tail light. I think it's an internal issue like deep inside close to the fuel lid. But yeah, It's to hot outside to be working on it. lol

Well ordered the subs today finally. Found a killer deal on them. Once the subs come, I'll be running to the store to get the fiberglass and will start on my new enclosures! Also I have the fatmat on the way. Today(Probably tomorrow because it is raining) I will get the pics of my big 3 upgrade too and some pics of the subs and fatmat install when the time comes.

Question. Did you fatmat have the stink to it? Did it go away or what did you do about that. I got most of it in today and it stinks haha.

yes, i do remember pulling it out of the box and having quite a smell haha but once its installed, you wont smell it. BUT! beware of getting your hands very blue and sore! you'll know when you install it all, trust me.

also, it helps to modify the roller that comes with it: take the pin thats in there out, and stick a bolt all the way through and put a nut on the end. if you dont, the wheel falls off every other roll.

Mine stinks in the car some lol. Yeah they didn't send me a roller or knife like they said they would -.- I emailed them about it but for now I've just been rolling a screwdriver across it hahaha. Hopefully they will sent it soon so i can still go over it. I need to also figure out what to do with my trunk lid...I want to fatmat it but theres no clean way to do it without just seeing all fatmat.

no roller or knife? who did you buy it from?

as for the trunk lid, see if there are some kind of covers available on ebay or some aftermarket website for your car. if not, you can always take a very thin sheet of plywood, cut it to shape, and paint it and put it up there over the FatMat haha. honestly, I woulsnt mind seeing a layer or two of FatMat, as long as you cut it nice, and rolled it on nice so instead of people saying "oh man, sound deadening" or something, they say "wow that sound deadening job is clean!"

Yeah I could do that with my spare wood...that or maybe ill just say the hell with it n fiberglass something! haha Either way I guess I'll have to figure something out...

As for the kinfe/roller, I ordered directly from Fatmat and it was supposed to come with them but I guess they forgot about it. I emailed them about it when I got the package butIm at work and cant check email yet. I made a homemade roller here at work today
