8" sub
Eclipse makes an 8" sub with high excursion that handles 400watts. maybe try checking that out. i have one in a custom box underneath my glove compartment and it cranks out fine.
The center console hides your E-brake cables, which take up a fair amount of space.
By downfiring, I mean facing the motor assembly up, and facing the cone downward (toward the floor) by sidefiring, I mean facing the sub sideways, prefferably toward the passenger side in this case.
And about the rear deck, I had no intentions of running it free air back there, though I suppose that could also be done. I was talking about building the requisite sealed enclosure and suspending it from the rear deck. .33 cubes is a pretty small box, and it wouldn't be that hard to shape properly such that you retain almost all of your trunk space.

Higgity Hank -> I think we misunderstood each other. I was not talking about puting the sub in the center console. I was more thinking about the arm rest in the back seat. The part where the arm rest folds in
