alpine avh-p6500dvd problems

well my cd/dvd player has been messed up for a around a week. its not covered under warranty and I really don't want to ship it out to alpine/pay to have them look at it and fix it if someone here knows of a way to help me.

I have a cd that is stuck in the cd player it won't eject and when you try to eject it or play the cd it comes up on the display as error 02 and then the cd player shuts off. I can listen to the radio with no problems but it sucks not being able to listen to cds.... unfortunately I'm broke right now and can't afford to buy a new cd player

Its sounds like you have a broken gear that ejects the cd.

Look for a manual eject button, similar to those that come on Computer CD drives. Its a small hole you can put a pin into and it will eject the CD for you.

Can you take the Headunit out? Im sure you can find a shop / person who can have a look at it a tell you what is wrong and maybe even fix it. They wont charge alot and you dont have to ship it either.

Call around your area or ask a local audio shop.

yeah new radio....sorry

i used to work at a car audio shop. Either find a stereo repair shop (a place that REPAIRS stereo equipment, not INSTALLS it) or trash it and get a new radio. the only way to get the CD out manually is to open the whole cd player and then it will not work at all.
