CD Player E 01?!!

Alright guys I know you all are just gonna say to get another head unit and I am but the one I want and am willing to wait to get is about $700!! So SHUT UP LOL J/K. Anyways I have the stock cd player in my 03 ES and it was playing cds just fine one day then the next day I popped one in and it came up with E 01??... It doesnt spit it out either it will try again to read it and come up with E01 again and so on and so forth. I can eject it fine and insert it fine and everything else works fine... what gives!!!! I tryed a lens cleaner but came up with same error code. I just hate the radio stations here and need my music. I guess if I have to wait thats what I gotta do but maybe one of you have had this same trouble thanks!!!

Are you using CD-Rs or store-bought CDs? Try more than one?

Mine did that when it was really cold here(around 10 degrees) and it wouldnt play cd's that it played the day before and gave me the same error. After my car warmed up it stopped. It also gives me that error when i put in a cd thats not compatible though so it COULD be your cd's.

Well I have tried brand new cds just bought from the store and burnt cds and other store bought cds I had played in it before this happened. I did unhook the battery for about 15 mins to try to reset it and that did nothing, I also took the cd player completely out of the car to see if maybe something was blocking it and nothing. Anyone know if there is some kind of reset button somewhere on the unit itself... thank you for all the suggestions!!!

Well guys it a wierd thing. I took the dash apart the other day to grease up the heater controls as they were a little tough to turn. So finished that up and put everything back together and VIOLA!! As magically as it stopped working, it starting working again.

Whats the weather like? It might be fogging up or collecting condensation

Plus I would think driving around with the heater going all the time would dry anything out in the dash? But I could be wrong, either way it now works and I am happy
