i got some JL 12w6 with a phoenix gold xs 2500 amp for $210. The JL has 1 rip on the edge, but does not cause any distortion. How much does it cost to fix? any comments are welcomed. Where can i find a good box for it?

 

I'd say deal. At least you get a decent price on the amp with or with out the sub. As far as the sub goes, I don't think there is any way to fix it besides getting a new one. Just use it till you completely blow it, then go get a new one or check ebay.

 

If the rip is in the surround, try putting clear nail polish over the rip to help seal it. A rip on the surround isn't that big of a deal until it starts getting bigger, and tears awau from the side. Still, I'd say deal!

 

Fix the sub...make sure it's damned sealed (in a box, you dont want air leaking out in front of the sub, it WILL cause distortion and the sub will move horizontally because of it. (not much, but over time it can cause problems
