Hey guys, maybe somebody can give me a clue. I got my PB back on Tuesday, installed it on Wednesday evening and did the initial learn period (idle, drive it easy for 20 minutes). It seemed to settle down a lot faster than the first time I installed it, didn't think too much of it since it had been reprogrammed and could act differently now. Yesterday was one of my 105 mile round trip to work days and I noticed by the end of the day that the PB didn't seem to working. The car ran normally (no misfires, or CELs, or rough idle) and still bogged down under 3k rpm. Spent lunch today redoing the T connections and doing the initial learn process, and by the time I got home had put over 70 miles on it. Still, car runs normally, but no indication the PB is doing anything. I just rechecked that I hooked all the wires up in the right order and they are. I'm assuming that if the connections on the cut white/red wire aren't good the car won't run properly. Is that a correct assumption? Does anyone have any further ideas?

Hmm, I'm not really experiencing that same issue, but I have another. I put mine in on Monday and let it idle for 10 minutes. I drove it around nicely, never going over 3000 RPMs. Well, now I've got about 60 miles on it and have started driving it hard. When ever I'm about to change gears accelerating, so my RPMs are high (~4500-5000) and shift quickly the car shakes like crazy for a second then goes right on. Its almost like the fuel is being cut for a second. It feels horrible when it does it and it concerns me. I'll be disconnecting it here tonight and letting it sit for a while before I solder all the wires.

On a better note, I do have to say that the idle problems are gone now as well as the backfiring. But I agree with you in that the car doesn't have as much pickup as it did before between 2000-3000 RPM.

Rock, any ideas/explanations?

well on the pick up part, i believe the piggyback is more to help out in higher RPMs so It shouldnt be too noticeable of a difference around 2000-3000.

I don't mean to contradict you, but there was a huge difference in pick up on the lower RPM's AND the higher RPMS. My car revved up/took off quicker from stand still and while passing on the highway...

I only had it in a few days, but it was really an all around difference in performance. I hope we haven't lost the pick up part because of the ide problem...

yes my understanding is that the entire fuel map(about 1.5k and up) should be leaned out giveing you a wider and higher hp curve as well as a smoother a/f curve, i definatly dont think you should be bogging... b/c that would indicate excessive fuel...

Forgive me if I am reposting, but I did not have enough time to scroll through 27 pages. This is for everyone that had the PB that you had to tap the vaccum line, and switched to the new Vers 2. Are there enough noticable gains to warrant spending another $500 for another PB. I only ask because a frickin stand alone unit is only 1200. I will be about 200 shy of that if I buy this one. I just wanna know if it is worth it. Would you do it again, or stick with what I have?

Well i read the 27 page book of a post anyway, and it seems there are many problems with this PB. Has anyone had a dyno run yet? I think I will be sticking with my Vaccum box.

With the new setup these things proved Bulletproof. Call me tomorrow, Saturday. We can discuss and solve any issues. 15% increase is pretty good estimate.

Unfortunately I won't be able to call tomorrow, I'll be at a wedding. I'll call on Monday if no suggested fixes are posted before then.
