{sigh} I guess I'm just trying to find some way to not have to take it back out of the car. I waited over a month for this thing to finally get delivered, paying for 89 octane the whole time since I was originally told it would ship the next week, only to be told to pull it and send it back after having it in for less than a week. I know the guys are just trying to give us the best parts they can, but I'm a little frustrated over it all.

Don't anybody take this personally, I'm just getting really stressed right now over a court date next week for a non-car related issue.

Once again, thanks RRM, you guys really do great work.

i know how you feel. you got it in and love the way it feels, now you dont want it out. but it would probably be for the best to return it.

I held off on the recall because:

1) some people were having problems with hanging idle afterward (I know reset the ecu and it should be ok, but shouldn't the techs know that already?)

2) the local dealers explaination gave me impression it was going to cost upper rpm power (they said the recall was due to people running the cars passed redline too much and dumping raw fuel through the exhaust, only was to stop that is to lean the car out more in the upper rpms, AFAIK)

I guess now I'll get the stupid recall done while I'm waiting for the PB to come back.

Oh man, you aren't kidding. Like I said in the review thread, this is how the car should have been tuned from the factory. And the only other engine mod I have is a SRI!

hell yeah, exactly what i thought. that the dealership should have this (or something of the same power) put in stock since our cars start off so underpowered and this helps out so well with everything. rrm you guys should talk to the dealership about this lol it would be awesome. oh and on the recall, i believe when i left the dealership it felt as if the car shifted sooner (in lower rpms) (i have an auto).

You are not the only guy who is fine. Most 5 speed guys have little to no side affects. Regardless, you can send it any time for reflash. Enjoy it. It sounds like you are!

So Rock, should I just leave it alone unless I start having problems? I was going to solder it in this weekend and "finalize" the install. What did you find to be the problem, does it relate to a specific mod?

This PB kicks ***.

Ok, fine. I guess I'll get the recall reflash while the PB is out then. At least I'll be gone a few days next week and stuck with a rental anyway.

Now to start planning for the next mod.

Again... problem is a part of the programming that is in the piggyback. Think of it as a bad setting... when the car see's this area it throws the check engine light and in this area the car tends to idle poorly.

5 speeds tend not to see this as they usually don't have the car under a load stepping on the brake like an automatic does. I wouldn't solder it just yet. Just cruise a little and be happy. When you have the time to do it send it back. If you start having a problem... send it back. It's up to you right now since you're a 5 speed.

Auto's should definately send it back in for reflash ASAP to avoid any possible problems.

Remember though that RRM has put out a statement to return for a reflash... thus if you do keep it in you take a chance that something could go wrong and RRM won't back it. They are doing the right thing by doing a re-call so to speak. However once notified it's up to you to do your part or they can't be held liable. Make sense?

I hear you Boe, I just keep looking for an excuse to not pull it back out. But, I'll have it on it's way tomorrow. Does anybody know what the turn-around time will be? And will come back on the slow brown truck again?

programming takes all of 5 minutes to do... so once they have it you should have it back out to you same day. figure a week turnaround time and yes they do use the brown clowns.

Takes a long time for those trucks to go from one coast to the other. Brown needs to start using the race cars for real.

Who takes the hit for shipping cost in a case like this?
