You can just reconnect on wire you cut and disconnect the piggy for inspection . Takes 5 minutes. Then you are disconnected. Plus with software there are some tradeoffs of settings to all but eliminate CEL. Scorp knows the story. Regardless we, did another 04-05 auto tune today. More to come on it tomorrow.

Yes, rough idle is still there but it's not unbearable. CEL is weird. I can go hundreds of miles without a CEL, then I'll get it couple of times, and then hundreds of miles without. I want to get the software and put the original settings back in, but haven't had the chance to call RRM.

That is exactly what I was thinking... If we are stuck with a CEL might as well have the PB settings that make it worth the CEL annoyance...

You pretty much do . With software I can tell you setting that can be played with so that you can determine how rough an idle you are willing to live with.

Cool, what do I need to do that? S/W, H/W, let me know, I'll do what it takes in order to get back to the original power settings...

Sorry. Don't know what S/W or H/W means. Order software, we can even email you the old original map after that.

Boy did I do alot of reading just now. I really want this piggy now. So does this "learning" process take a few days then? Also the CEL shouldn't come on if you install correctly along with getting through the learning process right? Sorry for the noob questions but when it comes to this piggy I am a noob.

I want this as my next mod but just want to make sure I have no troubles during the process.

Learning process takes about 100 miles of driving. You should drive it real nice for the first 30 miles or so and slowly work on it harder and harder. I've found this to be the best for me. Getting a CEL is just the luck of the draw. You may go 500+ miles before you get one (the MISFIRE code) or you may get one right away or after 20 miles or so. Whenever you get one, just stop by a local Autozone to be sure its just the random misfire and not something else. The CEL posses no threat and doesn't change the performance.

Exactly Z. CEL is no threat at all if you get it. Performance is worth it too!

so if you get the software you would be able to eliminate the rough idle...maybe...per chance?!?! QUESTION- would eliminating the rough idle using the software would that lose some power? or has there been a miraculous breakthrough where we can keep the power and lose the rough idle?! just wondering

So if I was to get a CEL and it read: MISFIRE would I have to reset it? Would this be the process everytime, resetting it?

But there is a chance that I wouldn't get one right?

Jeez... do people even read before posting? The same questions are being answered again and again and again.

Will you get a Cel? 02-03 guys are getting CEL not 04-06 guys
Will the Cel come back if I clear it? Yes it will (lucky you if it doesn't)
Can you fix the Cel with the R4? Solution in Rock's post right below this one.
Can you fix the idle with the R4? If you do it right... you will
Will you loose power if the fix the idle with the R4? If you do it right you won't

End of discussion.

TO correct Blaze a little although most of what he says is right.

02-03 guys are getting CEL not 04-06 guys.

CEL can be eliminated with software by changing sensitivity setting. When you do that, the box loses a little sensitivity on the top end. We programmed boxes without CEL. People sent them back and said they preferred getting more power and that idle was not that bad. We reprogrammed 02-03s and found happy medium. Most guys are getting CEL eventually but performance is worth it. CEL is only a bogus code cause of occasional rough idle hickup which ECU does not know what to make of it. It throws CEL. That is all it is. One can play with output setting and leave same map to get idle the way they want it to be. We can explain better in a tuning forum whne more software is out there.
