My Piggy Review
Ok so i posted here.

But i think this is relavent for this here thread. I have a 05 oz with a rrm cold air a piggy and a full tank of 89 octane gasoline. I live in connecticut, its been about 25-30F these past few days after installing my pb. It goes into learn mode, guess. It doesn't ramp up to 1500-2000 rpm like other people say, it just hangs out at 1000 rpm. When i start the engine the CEL comes on, i thought "whatever" so i let it idle for the set time and then took it out for a drive as the directions ask. I noticed that the idle stays kind of high after 15min of warm up (1600rpm). So after an additional 10 min of warmup/learn mode i took it out for a ride like the directions perscribe. I keep the thing under 2k rpm and drive around town. When holding the clutch in before a stop the rpms would bounce on 1k up to 1.5k untill i come to a complete stop. Once i stop completely the rpm goes back up to 1600 rpm. I thought "whatever, maybe thats what its supposed to do" but i have been driving it for two whole days and its dooing the same thing. If there is a resolution or a work around i would also like to be made aware. Oh and i didnt wire it incorrectly, if you wire this thing wrong you should just punch yourself in the face untill you die. Can someone steer me in the right direction?
Aside from the crazy bouncing rpm and dumb high idle i have notice that i have lost some of my low end torque. This was replaced by very smooth acceleration and very nice top end. Im trying to say that i like the thing, i just want it to work correctly.

^^ Sounds like you may have hooked it up wrong. Your CEL should not come on right away. Give RRM a call and troubleshoot with them. You're idle shouldn't be that high either. I just relearned my piggy last week and it was 8 degrees outside and after 100 miles now of sub freezing temps, still no CEL and idle sits at ~600-700 RPM

Twisty, sounds like you got lucky on your PB. Mine is still running rough, though it doesn't bounce the car around so much anymore. I thought I'd resolved the CEL issue when I'd gone about 900 miles without it coming back on, but then it decided to come on again last week and then again yesterday.
I also seem to get some hesitation sometimes unless I rev up to over 2000 and slip the clutch. With around 75k miles on the car I wouldn't be surprised if the clutch is very worn, but that wouldn't cause the engine to hesitate.
I keep thinking about pulling the PB out and asking RRM to put the original setup back on it since that worked perfectly for me. It's just that 1 1/2 to 2 weeks of not having it all.

^i'm an 04. all the 04-05 lancers pigs run super smooth. it has to do with the 02-03 ecu being a little differrent. the last reflash that was based off askasirlancelots car was supposed to smooth it out more and keep the power.

Car started up perfectly and idled fairly low (1500) for a couple minutes. I went off to take a quick shower and when I got back it was idling normally (600-700). My daughter said the rpms did jump up and down quite a bit for a while, as expected. We had some errands to run so out we went for it's 15 - 20 minute drive time before shutting it off for the 1st time. Restarted just fine, but did die just once while I was waiting at the bank on my daughter and fiancee (restarted normally with no problems). That one stall has been the only "problem" I've had. Every once in a while it does a quick fluctuation between 500 and 1000, but settles right back down to 600 to 700.
As for performance, unfortunately I've been dealing with a cold since last week and right now a Geo Metro going down a hill would feel like hard acceleration.
Anyway, the power comes on very smooth and seems to pull very evenly all the way through each gear. I've had to adjust how fast I get my foot back on the accelerator when shifting (I shift pretty quick) because it seems to rev back up a lot faster. I don't have any hard numbers on 0 - 60, but I do know that once I hit the highway on the way to work, I'm reaching 60 in less distance. Also, like someone else mentioned, I've found that the rpm range I have to be in for the car to respond quickly has moved from 3000 down to between 2000 and 2500.
Great job RRM, this is how the OZ should have been tuned from the factory.

Since I found out earlier today that they're going to release the software next month, I'll just stick it out for now and see if I can get the software and the original tune/settings from them. I'd rather do that than have nothing from the PB during the time it takes to get from east coast to west coast and back.
RRM, if you're reading this I'd love to get the software and tune/settings files as a Christmas present.

Ok, I may have figured out my (sometimes very severe) hesitation problems from a complete stop. It's been getting cold and I've been running the heater. The PB is mounted near the passenger footwell vent and may be getting overheated. I switched to just the upper vents this morning and didn't have any problems other than my cold feet. I'll keep it there this evening and see how it does. I'll probably be finding a new mount location this weekend.
interesting... So when you say you put the pbv2 near the passenger footwell, do you mean next to the ECU? Thats where I've put both of mine and it's been cold here in Jerzey and I didn't have THAT problem...
I currently have mine mounted on the flat plastic piece behind the ECU and directly above the footwell. Mounted upside down with that heavy-duty plastic velcro type stuff. Looks like I'll definately be moving it this weekend.
