when you finally get the car custom tuned make sure you let us know how much of a gain you can get over the stock settings since they are supposed to be optimized for all users.

Blaze, make sure to look for a reputable shop. Ask Hobie why

Sure will... But by the looks of it, I'll have to start a new thread. Too bad . I wanted this one to hold as much info as possible on the PB Vers.1

Blaze, make sure to look for a reputable shop
As said in 1 of my post, I'm mainly looking at http://www.tappauto.com since they are the most known have the best reputation around here. Even though it doesn't mean much for the Lancer, they are the home of one of the Fastest Street Legal and Street Driven DSM. Just like RoadRace, TappAuto has a plenty of followers that can vouch for their work.

blaze... why didn't you just get the emanage if you wanted something better?

With that you could advance timing and get even more power out of the car i'd think.
Sounds like you purchased something that is limiting you're goals and now you're trying to blame others for not providing you with a means out of your situation.

Sell the piggy and get an emanage... then you're issues are solved right?

Well, (and blaze can explain this better) but his PB never really worked like it should cause he's in canuckistan and the weather and everything is different, so he just wants it to work like it should. I agree about the emanage or even safc2, but lets stay on topic.

Yeah, I guess I'll stop sleeping, driving to work, etc. Thanks for the tip.

Please stop ruining Blaze's thread with the petty fighting. He's here for advice about his PB V1 and tuning it. NOTHING MORE.

All right... Thanks to Blacksheepdj for cleaning this a bit.

Before we go any further in this discussion I think there is some things I need to clarify with most of you.
  • My current piggyback works.
  • It improved most of my powerband and I'm liking it
  • I find it inconsistent but that's probably not related to the map since the map only tells how much fuel at such and such rpm
  • I do not want to buy Emanage, Aem Ems or whatever else you can think of.
  • I do not want to blame anyone for anything. I want to explore the piggyback's capabilities and get everything I can out of it
  • I baught the piggyback because it was offered at a good price and I knew (even before buying it) I would get a hold of the R4 Software to tune it

so you got the software.... update us on how u got it, how much it all cost after tuning, and how much gains you get over ///RRMs base map. i don't thing tuning is gonna help get rid of your inconsistency, it's probably your weather or your connection

How I got it? Somebody reading the many boards I post on contacted me. He shall remain nameless, but he offered me a sweet deal I couldn't resist.

Final cost and all will sure be provided, and since it's going to be dyno tuned, dyno sheet will more than likely be available.

The inconsistency... well... The wiring has been ruled out. I'm no longuer getting any Cel so that's fixed. The inconsistancy might be caused by the box, the vaccum lines, the weather and possibly my gettho ram air.

i don't think you'll get much better out of it... i mean... it's still NA. Maybe on a turbo where things are more dependant upon octane you can get, climate, etc. But not NA.

Good luck to you...

If the map doesn't ping on 87, does that mean that we could(using 91 or higher) lean the mixture even more?

As Greg said, the answer is an official "MAYBE."

Going back and forth on timing, I can still get my Camaro to ping on 94. So it's something you just have to be careful with and experiment.

Yeah, but keep in mind the piggyback doesn't adjust timing at all.

It was an example, sorry.

My point is that you need to tweak up and down and see the changes. Get a wideband. Take out a bit of gas and see if the A/F ratio is safe or not. Repeat until you have the perfect power curve...
