emanage problems
emanage problems
I finally got my injectors installed and ran my car while it was pig rich. In which I got a huge lose of power along with a rough idle. I didn't worry about this because my car wasn't tuned for the RC 370cc injectors.
However, when I installed the emanage I ran into some problems. I bought a plug and play harness from boomslang and double checked their harness with some install writeups from external sources and it was correct. I did the injector compensation setting along with ignition, injector, and airflow. In any case, I let my car run for awhile to reset but it was still rough. So then I proceeded and tried to give it gas and then after I got off the pedal the car died. I then tried to restart it and it doesn't start. However, it does turn over.
So I checked the coil packs and they aren't sending a spark so I think, hey I fried them. However, I disconnect the harness and plug in my stock wiring witih my stock ecu and my car starts. Therefore, my coilpacks are still good.
Any suggestions because my car is just sitting waiting to take on a new tune.

hey,
i think have a lesser version of what sounds like the same problem. very very rough idle and stalling.
you would be running alot more rich than me because of the injectors, hence your car not starting and mine just stalling at idle every time.
david (RPW) told me something about needing to disable the o2 sensor so that he could tune 'closed loop' mode without the o2 sensor enabled the ECU 'trying' to overcompensate and 're-learn' after the emanage tuning.
my car is getting tuned this weekend so i'll try and get more info on the closed loop tuning.
I also have the boomslang harness, and checked and double checked the wiring wich seemed to be goos. so i hope all is ok with that.
what other mods have you done to your car?
i have headers, cai, fpr, 4g93 intake mani, 60mm throttle body. The throttle body and intake mani started my very lumpy idle woes then after emanage tuning of the power curve it made it alot worse, now i stall every time i stop at lights.

I have a T28 with RRM headers basically.
Well in my case I don't think that is the problem because prior to the emanage install I was running the car back and forth to work for a good 4 days. The idle was rough and I had a lose of power due the excess fuel but I was still able to drive it.
After the emanage install it will keep a rough idle and then after giving it gas die out. Then if I ever try to start up my car it won't start. The only time it will start up is if I put on the stock wiring with the stock ecu.

Can anyone guess why I would be able to start the car and then after it dies not be able to start it again?
I thought it might be the ignition wiring on the boomslang but then again, how would I be able to start my car if the ignition wire was off?

my car was driveable before the emanage, just no power too, but after tuning stalled everytime i stopped at lights.
try and disable the o2 sensor. cut pin 76 on your boomslang harness (if it still does not start you can join it back up). that fixed my problem. and we were able to tune the emanage perfectly.
it caused the CEL to come on though, so now I'm looking into an o2simulator to get rid of that.
its no the ideal scenario, but it might get your car driving.

well, I took the car up to RPW in my lunch break and they worked out what most of my problem was. the tps needed adjusting since the 60mm throttle body and the 4g93 intake manifold.
the revs dont drop now when i take off from idle, the idle is much improved and the flat spot at 200rpms is gone (almost), only now its bumpy because the o2 sensor is disabled, which i will wire back up tonight and apparently the ECU will re-learn how to idle. *sigh*
hope you can sort your issue out.
maybe try to pm mitsiman (david@RPW) and see if he has any ideas.

Alrighty, I finally got my car started. All I had to do was change some jumper settings around. In any case, it still isn't running well. When I run the car with a rotary setting of 383 I get a misfire code. When I change it to 323 I get a low maf input code and I get a red light on my emanage.
