piggyback ecu connection?

piggyback ecu connection?

my piggyback ecu will not connect to my laptop...well my laptop with the software and drivers....with serial cable usb - serial... then scantool...-OBD2 socket.... software says cannot connect...... hrmmm......idunno it says i might have wrong cable or check ecu...idk some help or sugestions...plzzz...

i just had the same issue. Did you make sure to install the drivers for the cable itself?

also check which COM port you are connecting with.

Also, make sure your car is on. I think it would be either the com port, try all of them, or the software for the cable.

Are you talking about the RRM piggyback? if so, you do not connect to the cars OBDII port, you connect straight to the piggy, there are 4 screws on it, remove them, take the top off, and there will be a serial port in there. If its not the RRM piggy then disregard this post
