i drive a 05 lancer es, 4g94, AT. custom headers and exhaust. SRI. it drives 'sluggish'. from what i can tell the 501 MAF swap sounds like its the solution to my problem and to get the most out the other 'upgrades'

If you can find the port , dont find it and take it to get it done by a professional .

New map? I dont understand what your asking for? If you downloaded it correctly from your car you now have your stock map. Now you can modify it yourself

After i read the file from my ecu in EcuFlash and save it to my desktop as a .hex. Then i have to load the new .hex to write to the ecu, right? Or am i just going about this completely wrong?

After you read your ROM from your ECU using EcuFlash you can save it or modify it. Then you would re-flash that modified ROM back into your ECU.
