I may have missed this somewhere in the thread. Can we hookup a boost solenoid and control it from our ecu with the evo rom?

I asked this a while back, but never heard from anyone. I'm thinking it is possible though, just wire the sensor in to the proper pin on the ECU, and enable it. Still, I wish someone would say "here's how you enable boost control" and "here's how you install/configure the clutch position switch" and "here's how you make 1 million dollars in a day".

Anyhow, if no one has done it by the time I'm tuned up and Tephra'd....I'll buy one of those grimspeed ones or whatever, and give it a try.

Thanks, I might beat you to it, Ill be breaking in my motor on my original tune then next week work on swapping over to the evo rom, if we cant I've got an evo ecu sitting here Ill just put in. It'll be nice for running between e85 and 91.

Evo ECU = Lancer ECU with Evo Rom, just 2 wires are swapped, so just flash that ecu with a tephra and save yourself the wiring. When tuning on the stock ECU, I've been seeing some weirdness that I didn't expect, like fuel coming from the low oct map, but timing seems to be from the high oct map. Anyhow, I really want to know if it works for you.

Should not have any issues switching over to the evo rom just make sure you copy over all of your values and disable that immobilizer

None with the lancer ROM, but the Evo ROM has boost control. If you mean confirmed as in "can the hardware the lancer has be flashed to the evo rom and then control boost", then I would assume yes...but no one I am aware of is controlling boost with the lancer ecu running an evo rom. 2 guys mentioned it, but no one has a real reason to yet...it's just not a "need" feature for us running small boost, and the few high boost guys don't seem to care a heck of a lot about it either. It outta work though, only 2 wires are different, right?

Yeah im just curious if once the rom is flashed to the ecu the output for the BCS is there at the corresponding pin. Im sure it would need to be wired up for the lancer guys. Considering this as an alternative to the evo ecu, but need the boost control option and alt maps for meth switching.

I spoke to Roadspike, not specifically about this...but he believes that while the base rom and evo rom share hardware, the specifics for boost control and some other things that the evo has but lancer doesn't were probably removed. That would mean, while we can flash to the evo rom, it may not work the other way around (or with what you are trying to do).

I'd think, unless you are really feeling "guinea pigg-y", you would save some headache just buying a used evo ECU. If you get a lancer one, and it doesn't work, you may still need to buy one...and you'd be out a few bucks. I guess the knowledge gained may justify it though....for me as well, even though the more i read the more i think i'd prefer a manual boost controller.

hi fellas. been busy with autobody and piecing this RA back together. anyway been up all night thoroughly reading this whole thing again. im going to try the latest AT xml on my 05es AT. believe it was manufactured in 04 if it matters. i know i have to change mitsukernel to mitsukernelocp for the flashmethod. other than that i think it will go smooth. using 501MAF. anything i may be leaving out? suggestions? helpful tips? as i am still pretty novice when it comes to tuning

ok so the rom on my ecu is 86640007 US 05 ES AT. i have no .hex for 81870017 which is what i was going to try flashing on. instead of finding that file can i just mod the 007?

EDIT: found lancer auto tephra v7 for 05 06 for auto which is 82870017 on my comp. it looks like it is the complete package to be modded. if theres an expert i can send it to to look at it than that would help much. need some guidance on what it is i should change besides just getting the MAF to work. any and all help is much appreciated.

got the 82870017 up and running currently. CEL was on immediately and still is. let it idle for a good 10min. the first few minutes it was rocking and the rpms were jumpy in between 1100-2000. mellowed out around 1100. drove it to school, less than ten miles. no knocking or weird noises of any sort. idles real low at red lights while in gear. like 500-700. never cut off though. 05 ES AT N/A SRI HEADERS FULL CUSTOM PIPING 501MAF

Shin you'll want to use my latest patch the old one had issues.

You remember that you just need to change the flashing method in the xml and it will work fine.
