It's just weird, I took out some timing at a certain load and it's still knocking on that area..
You know honestly i'm not too sure. There is the off chance that the low timing map could be primary since i didn't look too much into what map does what in this car.

I'd assume it would be the high octane first.

Double check that your changes are making it through to the runtime with logging. If you get knock no matter what you do its probably phantom knock from some piece of hardware and should be ignored with settings if possible.

My lancer Rom used the low octane maps ONLY. I don't know if RS has adjusted anything to change that, but by default...it's low octane only. Easy way to tell is check the timing and compare it to the low and high maps, they will have diff numbers, so which ever one matches up is your guy.

Crap, I'm still getting a lot knock even though I pulled timing from low and high ocatne map.
Freakin stock lancer tune is a POS! BTW, what's Phatom Knock specifically?

Usually its some kind of vibration or rattle making the knock sensor think there is knock when there is none.

Basically phantom knock is when the ecu misinterprets engine noise or some outside noise as knock. More likely to happen the more you modify your engine and introduce noises that the knock sensor was not calibrated for from the factory. Say you have 8 counts of knock at a certain load/rpm and you drop timing like 5 degrees in that area, dont have any sharp timing raises or drops in that area and are still gettting those 8 counts thats a good indication of phantom knock. I have done alot of trial and error trying to tune out my phantom knock with I feel good success. Although its not perfect and possible I may have tuned out a little bit of real knock I feel all knock that needs attention is still accurately displayed and I am not getting the annoying drop in power that I was seeing before because of the phantom knock

I think it would be best to simply adjust the table to ignore knock under a certain load point. 50-60 load is just too low and its too sensitive. Plus these motors can take more abuse than ya think you'll hear knock long before damage under 100load.

dang, my load is like at 35... lol
BTW, 91 octane somewhat solved my knock issues.. it's knocking less now..
