well the only way im not going to knock is if I use octane booster, I would prefer to spend the money then just messing with the tables I dont know about.
roadspike you think if I send you my rom you can adjust the knock table?
If yes give me a few days to get my car tuned to where it knocks a little more less "tuning out the real knocks until im satisfied with false knocks"

I found for some reason, maybe especially with the auto trans, that in the low crusing area i would get rediculous counts, i would be traveling at 45 MPH then hit a bump or something and the knock sum would be like 21 LOL and just crusing on very light load would see random counds of 12-15. I have had my knock settings the same as the EVO, where it ignores it completly under like 70 load, and everythings been fine
I even frequently check my plugs, and check the tops of the pistons with this nice scope i have, the piston and walls ect and perfect, and for 145k on the motor, im shocked at how good of a condition this motor is, the tops of the piston have normal carbon, but its only a slight haze, nothing to worry about, so im happy about that! And i have also realized this motor is not just a ****ty lil eco motor, if your tune is well, this motor is actually pretty sweet, me and a buddy were ripping down the highway, 2 miles straight, 6 PSI WOT the whole time, not once did it knock, and not once were the AFR out of check, i love my little lancer.
However the nissan spec-v was with me the whole time, he wasnt pulling on me, but nether was i. He's also a 5-spd, im auto, we met up at walmart after we got off the highway and told me that his car dyno's 217 hp to the wheels on the dyno at DSG, so i figure at 6 PSI im somewhere deff very close to 217 hp to the wheels, BIG improvment over the stock 100 HP to the wheels lol!

Lol, I'm not sure what to do with my knock tables. I've had them at the "stock lancer values of 18, and 3/5 are the multi's or whatever...but I don't know what's better to use, evo's or lancers. Maybe I'll leave em evo stock, but turn that lower range down some...I want to see knock over like...70, because that's when i hit positive pressure. I want a map 3or4 bar sensor....buying one like...asap.

The reason I'd get the MAP sensor, is 2 fold...first I'd love to log boost, and second is the migration to SD eventually. It's a 170 dollar upgrade basically, and apparently really makes life good. Cars run better once tuned, you can pull a lil more power i guess due to slicker tuniing, but probably could do the same if you spend time on the MAF tune...my reason is the nice smooth driving i hear about. Starts feel easier, AFR's seem more responsive, etc...who knows.
Not sure...to run SD you need a MAP sensor, like the omni 4bar or the EvoX 3bar. That's basically it, but if you want to do it right, you also need a "IAT Sensor" which tells the exact temp of the intake air, although you can squeak by without it using the fuel temp sensor.

Yeah i deff want to go SD soon, waitin for whenever spiker can write in a patch for the auto rom! :-D
You guys sure like to move fast
I'm writing up the test rom for the evo guys right now finally got it worked out to something that makes sure for everyone for 3d VE maps.
What kind of map sensor should be in there by default?
