I don't have one in front of me, but if it IS 60mm then it's 60 at the outlet, and the butterfly is like 52. I can measure it tonight

The G94 TB is not 60mm making that LOW of HP. Also, there isn't enough intake mani material to effectively house a 65mm TB.

60mm = 1g DSM TB, pacific rim G92 MIVEC
55mm = 2g DSM TB

Actually, the RRM site just says they bore it out 5mm over stock- and they don't say what stock is. I'm pretty sure it's just 52. . . . . .

and as long as the light from the original topic will take several years to rach us anyway....

Anyone done the coolant bypass mod to the TB yet? That's where you either use a connector to put the 2 hoses together, or you loop one hose back onto the spout for the other hose.... any thoughts? The mirage forums guys (specifically Dude) say that this will bring your intake charge down a degree or two because you don't have the hot coolant circulating near the butterfly. Of course, it's also supposed to be a mechanism to warm the TB so it doesn't freeze if you live in a cold climate (so this might be a summer mod for some folks).

Few miragers have done the coolant bypass. It's one of those free mods to do. I'll copy and paste the "how-to" and what-not when I find the time within 48 hrs or so.

My suggestion to Mike was to use the 4G94 TB on the G93 manifold if the G93 TB lines were hooked to a different place.

What he said he did was source a mitsu 60MM TB to put on at the same time as the Mani swap.

Greenpsycho I think you confused exactly what Pgmike has been trying to do.

oh ok, the 60mm TB came from a 1g DSM (assuming) and mating it to the G93 intake mani like Airquez.

For a better vac line setup, look for an Evo 8 TB. Things should line up much better.

There should be some pics on AQ's setup.

Anti-coolant bypass theories by the Mazda guys. There are other articles too.

Get the 92-94 1g TB, because the TPS matches up w/ the G93.

i honestly hope it does work out for you, but honestly dude, maybe you shouldn't count you eggs before they hatch.

edit: sorry its this is OT, i don't really know what is ON TOPIC anymore
you dont even know whats going on. i have the 93 mani and a 92 1g tb that is 60mm, the 94 tb is 52-53mm. its not speculation, its what dave said works bc he has tried it. the 93 and 94 share the same head even.

I also have done the coolant bypass mod and have had it done for years (I live in FL, so no real cold temps. for me to worry about). I just looped the coolant lines back together. No real issues thus far.

Good luck Mike, I know you car is still down. Hopefully you will be able to get everything in place, so that you can attach some validity to these claims. I know it has worked (the 1G TB on the 4G93 intake mani), just a matter to see if the mani bolts to the 4G94 head.

G93 to G94 = same cyl head. I'm just worried about intake runner length. Then again, RPW said it was the same.

The intake mani has nothing to do w/ the fuel rail or anything along its pipeline. Besides, I'm willing to bet the fuel rail is the same since it's a logical cost cutting effort.

o... i was thinking that if our fuel rail didnt mouunt to the im then we might have to do further modification to either get the injectors to fit the mirage fuel rail... or get our fuel rail to fit on the mirage im. Thanks for clearing it all up

Some teaser photos for those showing the outline of what we will be doing with the four cylinder models. Same manifold design and throttle bodies so can give everyone something to think about.
