In my opinion, a heat shield is a must, and ram air or cold air is better. Just try not to spend too much.

Thanks purecoda, that was a pretty good article. And I agree, a heat shield is a must, my old Jetta didn't have one and I think now I understand why it felt sluggish at the end of the day - to much hot air.

I'm replacing my RRM Short Ram Intake with an AEM CAI!
Should be installed by tomorrow night!!!

just make sure you take out the fake grill insert on the driver side of the bumper. more air flow

yes the fake insert on the driver side of the front bumper stops alot of air flow to the CAI remember to take out or replace the insert.
