Govern Limiter
manual no mods. magnacore plug wires and ngk iridiums. 126 last night on flat road, probably could have hit 130, but passenger wanted me to stop. as for mph, 22-23 in city going hard almost all the time.

i really, really, really, don't want to be a jerk but, this thread should have been closed a long time ago(right around the point where we established there is no governor/limiter in the lancer). there is a thread on MPG that has plenty of posts....top speed has been covered too...a search would be more productive
^not entirely true. If you do the math (someone did it on here a while back), with all the gear ratios and etc. the top speed works out to be 132 at stock. BUT (and isn't there always one?), it would take you forever to get there, as the lancer isn't exactly designed for that type of speed, assuming you could keep it on the road

The gas mileage is low; on a full tank 10-11 gallons I get 200-220 miles, and as I reach 100 mph it seems as if it just cannot go any faster like the car is thinking "should I go faster or not, the odometer needle trying to push but getting nowhere)
anyway my question are this:
Is the gas mileage normal? Do I have to remove the Govern limiter to go faster? If so where is it and how do I do it?
please PM me or better yet email me at:

By the way y next "upgrade" are Toyo FZ8 205/65R14 "Unidirectional" tires
