Just installed a new K&N Typhoon and love it, VERY noticable increases in throtle pull and gas milage.

Installed in abot an hour. Would have been less but trying to watch my three daughters is like herding cats.

Alright I bought a big filter and adapter for my old impreza L.....like someone mentioned before when I was driving it sounded nice and it felt like there was a tiny increase in power.

BUT when I stopped at a light........my car would get this huge sag and feel like it was almost going to die......general bogging.....this is from heat.......so any of you fools that say buying a Ebay filter is just as good as buying something like the RMR, your nuts.

I don't know if it does any damage but I really hated the feeling of my car bogging like that at every single stop sign/light......

I imagine the lancer would have this same issue, can anyone confirm that it doesn't? I live in Las Vegas btw.....temperature in the summer is usually 100 to 110. Also, where the hell can I purchase a RMR Intake? There site lists one of the Mitsubishi dealers in town.....I don't even want to imagine how much they would charge for it. The RRM intake has a heatshield as well correct? Is it anywhere near as good as the RMR intake?

personal testing with a sri and no heatshield, going from a 50mph cruise to a stop had the temps from 82-86 degrees and shot up to 115 degrees. this is with the temperature being around 68-72 degrees outside. car intake temps were checked with an obdII scanner. regular airbox had a higher cruising temp, but the temps didn't shoot up at a stop like the sri did. it went up to the low to mid 90's. cai have a lower cruising temp and a stop temp from the mid to high 80's range. i've done this all in the same day.

RRM intake is good. RMR is better. you can deal with RMR direct from contacting them through email or calling them. also, now that the ralliart is out, you can modify a ralliart intake duct to fit in the es/ls/oz. it doesn't have that "pinch" after the intake duct entrance that the 4g94 lancers have. it's nice, large, and fluid.

i will probably go with the rmr intake then....im emailed them to find out how much it will cost...

as for the ralliart intake duct....what modifications need to be done to make it fit? just how it screws on I would imagine?

auto :P

I'm really too lazy to drive a stick and I never plan on truely racing anyone...

I am going for intake, then cat-back exhaust, then maybe headers (although I'm not sure I want my car that loud)......also I want to do strut and sway bars, just not sure how to install them (i think the strut bar is that one that is hard to install...not sure but my cousin has a tuner shop so i'll just have them do anything I can't)

Rims maybe some day....but I'm not too down to drop over a grand for anything.

I just want a little more performance and a stiffer ride during turns.....just my daily driver tho

Hey Evolarts.. I dont know if you meant you dont want to spend a grand on everything that you want in total (that's bound to happen) but you dont have to spend a G on just rims, if that's what you meant. Ebay is actually good for that. I got my 17's offa ebay from an online dealer, and got the wheel and tire package for about 700 shipped. Its close to a G, but its not .. and man its worth it. Check out the site in my sig.. they might have some sales or auctions going on..

i doubt i will have the spare money for that anytime soon, but those are some nice deals......i've got a white lancer....I'm thinking I would go with those white motegi's....bout $849

I plan on getting all my other crap first and then buy rims. No point in looking nice if your car sounds weak, which mine currently does.

I just ordered the RMR for $165 total....hope it sounds good. I bought tail lights, side marks, and a spoiler off ebay.....but I refuse to buy a intake or exhaust off ebay, I won't ever buy any engine parts off ebay either....screw that.

Injen RD1830 all the way. I could feel a difference after installing it. Maybe it was just a mental thing since it's HP gain is what? I don't know.
