here's my ebay intake. IMO, when it comes to an SRI, it doesn't make that much difference whether its a name brand or not. CAI and exhaust does make a difference .. but SRI is an SRI

Pic just for the heck of it.

dude overall if you get a name brand sri you will get .5 - 1hp extra gain from a basic sri .so $100.00 for 1/2 a horse . trust me a exhaust , and a regular intake will make a hell of a loud sound, especially if you take the silencer of the exhaust.

rmr is louder, but if u get a universal exhaust with a removable silencer, then you will be PERFECTLY fine sound wise. don't for get to ask for something deep sounding , and not bumble bee sounding.

i say do what you want with your money. some people want the cheapest way to get mods, which is great, and some people want it for looks. i like opening my hood and everyone going WOW, that looks badass. so i spent 170 on my injen sri. as for the muffler, just go buy a magnaflow or greddy axleback and have it put on, the noise will be there, regardless of the 2.25" piping, thats what your aiming for.

LoL

LMAO rocks in my hub caps wont sound nice. A nice ebay sri and muffler will sound a whole lot better and as for price ummm goddie . Im gonna be honest it really doesnt matter what brand it is because its not like im a racer that depends on the top quality mili second better stuff and im not going to auto shows this is just my daily driver to school and work i wanna have a nice meaty sound and not spend over 800 just for an exhaust and intake thats just insane. I mean if ur a show guy and u have the cash go for it. But if u just use it for daily driving theres no point in putting all that money in. When you go to sell it its really not gonna help because everyone goes by blue book value really. I dunno just my 2 cents.

I bought the "intake" (tubing, mas adapter and crappy filter) from ebay for $25.00 shipped. I then found that I forgot to tighten a clamp and the filter fell off and then I bought the HKS filter off ebay for an extra $15.00 shipped.

here's the link to the auction I won for the HKS-like filter.

Ebay HKS-like filter

For the intake I would suggest getting the Injen intake. They have it on NOPI's E-cat for $160. For the exhaust I suggest getting a custom bent one from a local exhaust shop. You can get a full 2.5 in. cat-back for about $50. Then all you would have to do is buy a cheap $30 muffler from Ebay.

The full catback would give you the sound you really want at the cheapest price.

Errr.. Ive searched like 100 threads. And it seems like when I figure something out in one thread, it gets contradicted in another.

I run an auto. And Im wondering exactly what an SRI with heatshield would do for me. Right now Im thinking it'll give me more in the low end compared to stock and a CAI, a bit more in the high end compared to stock but much less compared with a CAI. Anyone know for sure?

I've heard that breathers will work better than a bypass valve..is that true? Is it even related?

Cuz i'm thinking of getting an Injen CAI, but i live in Edmonton, Alberta...cold winters and snows alot...dunno if a CAI will be my best choice even though i prefer CAI on top of SRI.

you do not need breather filter, its not related to the bypass valve. the bypass valve keeps water from being sucked into the engine.
