How much would a evo engine

0234, if you take the time to read up on engine swaps, and assuming you have half a brain in your head, I think you'd come to the realization that there is no such thing as a cost effective, much less, "drop-in" engine for the Lancer. If you want to play with engine swaps, buy a Honda. If you want to build your Lancer, be prepared to work with the 4g94 or pay out the anus for an impractical swap with little benefit over simply turbocharging your existing engine.

you say 300whp and fwd as a negative yet then you say just get a turbo kit?
why all the negativity? there's no reason to refurbish, rebuild, etc anything if you shop around carefully. i mean, it's not like you need a motor mount kit or anything it drops right in. and suspension, tires, etc are kind of a given i dont think many would try to run a swap with skinny tires on a 16 in rim.
like i said, the only real downfall is the cost of an engine right now (i would only deal with VIII or IX motors for the simple fact parts are easy to get) and if i had to pay somebody to do it i sure as hell wouldnt have even bothered.

i definitely see where you are coming from though, but in my opinion the completion of a swap still means you are a long ways off from yeilding the benefits of a swap due to other necessary mods. i was just making sure the starter of the thread was considering this
