yeah i got the same problem... actually i get it all the time because i deliver pizza's in my lancer ( i no.. stupid idea but i just got a beater yesterday so i wont for much longer). im constantly stopping after driving a few miles to drop the pizza off, and when i'm walking back to my car i can usauly hear it doing that from like 10 feet away then i get in the car and see the rpms jumping from 500 to 1500. when i got my AEM cold air and restarted the battery it stopped for a while after it re learned itself. but eventually started doing it again so i looked it up online. it turns out its a very common problem for lancers. it doesnt seem like much of a problem other then being annoying and maybe a little bit in gas. but im honestly not sure if it is causing any long run problems. so if ne one knows please fill me in.

also im only at about 41k and its been doing it since i got the car at 35k so i dont think its a problem that happens after a long period of time i think its just an engine problem most lancers have

Also try the valves that hook up to it.

Eventually it will come loose. I had some idle problems on a different car because of the egr valve.

It would drop low then rev high. When I wiggled the egr it would drop low because of a leak or something. Eventually I blew a IM gasket. Looked in my rear view mirror and couldn't see the car following me because of smoke. Just try moving it. I won't take more than a minute.
