To all of the PZEV owners out there... What are some of your opinions on the header? Is it really worth it taking into consideration it being street illegal? I live in PA...

It's worth it to me because all i have to do is disconnect my MAS sensor from my Short ram intake and the SES light goes away. It does this for about 25-50 miles before it goes back on.

That's more than enough miles than the dealer will have it for. I disconnect and then re-connect my MAS sensor, go for service, get it back and nobody knows anything. Luckily for me anyways, i have a dealer that is friendly with mods.

This light doesn't annoy me, but in time i will eventually get the CEL eliminators so im not oblivious to other problems i may have if the CEL goes on again.

I assume most people would not notice anything out of the ordinary when getting a visual inspection for emissions?

Never had to do one. So im not familiar with what they look for and what they MIGHT not see. Sorry i couldnt be more helpful.

But if you're at that point and you're that worried, this part is a bolt-on. I would NOT have bought this piece if it was welded on.

Looks stock and if a cop stopped you, he would see the other cat in the catback section so.......no issues. 4 years later, spend an hour swapping back to stock for a day. Done and done.

I'm not so sure it's even illegal (in PA at least).

I'm sure its not, you are removing a cat. However, since there is a second, it would not be noticeable.

Some states got PZEVs but are states that do not require it. Meantime even in Cali, you have 4 years before you even need to worry about it on a NEW car! SWEET. Myan Calender says the world ends in 2012 anyways, so we prolly don't have to smog our 2009 Lancers EVER!

Depending on how well the piggy ECU I ordered from RRM that'll arrive Tuesday performs, I can't wait until I order my headers next.

Question...in April I called and was told that for my FED, no hi-flow cat was in plans for you guys to sell. What's up with that? Intake, headers, and exhaust are awesome, but what's the point without either the FED test pipe or a FED hi flow cat?

If anyone could at least tell me where to get either, I'd get it in a heartbeat. If RRM would tell me they'd get me one by the end of the year, I'd gladly wait to get it done, considering the quality of their product.

Don't waste you money there. HF cat is good but welded into your car so no need. Removing it completely will cause you to lose lowe end power so Header and free flowing alxelback really gives you the most balanced power possible on the N/A 4b11. We have tried all the various combos of bits in the exhaust. THis was what worked best!

Thanks for the info Rock.

I got that piggyback ECU installed yesterday by the way...what a kickin' mod!

Can't wait to get my headers next! (late July/early August)
