Question for ya, I have an 09 Lancer GTS, Stock - no upgrades done yet... im confused with a few things before i started adding upgrades, I dont care about the body of the car until later maybe, The Engine is where i want to do my upgrading first.

Ok so, should I stick an Evo Engine in a GTS, or is it better to Mod out my current Engine? Will i ever get a modded GTS engine to perform like an Evo engine thats also modded?

A 4B11/4B12 (08/09 GTS engine) will never be able to perform as well as a 4B11T(Evo X engine) unless you completely rebuild the engine and strengthen the internals and add a turbo. By the time you do that it would have been cheaper to buy an Evo X engine and swap it in. But thats still very expensive and you will probably run into trouble with the electronics and ECU.

I would love to see someone swap a 4B11T into a Lancer though,

Hey Works, do you still have some 4B12's laying around the shop?

Just building the engine will not get you to perform like an evo, nor will a swap. If you are looking to perform like an evo, you are going to need some major $$$!! Suspension, Tranny, AWD conversion, etc...

It would be impossible to perform like an evo overall, To get all the sensors and computers that control the AYC, ACD, Sport ABS, ect. in the S-AWD would require mitubishi engineers. Not to mention you would have to get a wider track, battery relocator to the trunk with the reservoirs, You would have the strengthen the chasis, which would be near impossible, reprogram all the ecu's so your ACD ect. work when you hit the switch, A New dash that has the gravel, snow, tarmac switch, Plus everything EngRWW33 said.

You can get your car to go as fast as an Evo in a straight line with a lot of work and money, But no matter how much money you throw at the lancer it will never be as fast as an Evo around the track.
