2.4L engine in 2009 Lancer standard!

I saw this video online. says it will be putting a 2.4 liter 4B12 engine in the 2009 Lancer, producing 168 hp stock and 167 torque stock. This engine will be stock, not an upgrade!! Why not do it when it first came out???

It's only standard/available in the 2009 GTS: http://media.mitsubishicars.com/deta...58957&mime=ASC If you want one in your '08, we've got a couple of 4B12 long blocks here at the shop

with the bigger engine, a proportional exhaust upgrade would be in order. best hope would be to upgrade Cat + back, minimum Axleback upgrade

If you have the choice, go with the 2.4L. There's just no replacement for displacement. And aftermarket support means dick - a decent local shop can do everything GReddy can, but for half the price.

Externally, the two are virtually the same, so most bolt-on products should be compatible. When it comes to internal components (crank, rods, pistons, etc...) they're are definitive variations. Expect differences in the ECU, injectors and other peripheral components, but nothing that would dramatically inhibit most aftermarket components. The chassis components (suspension, brakes, etc...) should remain the same unless they do a model-wide alteration/upgrade.

The '09 isn't even out yet man, you'd be carless regardless. In the meantime, do all your homework, study real hard, and be sure to eat all your green vegetables and you'll be above 3.0 in no time. Because knowledge is power!!!

This goin to be off-topic but this thing just bugs me alot. does our lancer gts really have the potential of goin fast? i know in fact that the 09 has 168 hp but it will be detuned for 158 here in the US. Can we or possible far surpass the 09's 2.4 Liter Engine or even the Ralliart?

we can defiantly get past the 09 GTS, just add a turbo (But then the 09 would be the better value). as for the RA, we might be able to get just as much as them, maybe a little more.
