Injen Muffler
Injen Muffler
Hello everyone, this is my first thread, i don't see a search so sorry if this has already been discussed i'm pretty new to this site.
Anyway, i've been wanting to get the GReddy Ti-C axelback for a while, and i was finally going to order it tomorrow, but after viewing some videos on youtube i stumbled across this:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=a1gszIRuRE8
this is the muffler:

I thought man oh man that injen exhaust sounds amazing, wish i had 900 bucks for the SES.
Then i found out it was a customized Universal Injen Muffler
I thought to myself thats the perfect sound i was aiming for. but seeing as its going to be customized the performance is up in the air. i don't know if it will gain any HP and how much.
I was going to take it to a muffler shop to get fitted to be a bolt on so i can switch back to stock if need be. anyway i just wanted to see what you guys though, and if i should bother customizing it, or just get the GReddy that comes ready to install.
Thanks!

I recently orderd the HKS Muffler i seen one on ebay looked it up on youtube, some *** said it was a full HKS catback. funny that HKS dosent make anything for the 08s yet. he had a HKS universal muffler on it and overall it sounded really good so untill more performance mods and exhaust systems come out so i can make a really good decision and not update everytime a new exhaust or comany comes out with a mod, i just got the muffler and ill work on the body work untill then, but the injen didnt sound bad
Go with this. It'll be MUCH cheaper.
For performance, just make sure the custom install keeps the S-bend idea (two 90-degree bends rather than just making it a straight pipe) and you should gain some HP. If you make it a straight pipe, it'll probably be all high-RPM power and your car will suck at low-RPM driving.

I don't know for sure. I still have my stock exhaust. I know RRM said they tested a straight-exhaust option and it was down on HP.
If you mean the HP difference between a catback and the custom job you mentioned doing, it should be minimal. In stock trim, I don't think the cars really exhale enough air for it to matter if you go axleback or catback. To me, that's more of a turbo car concern.
(My opinions/guess only. YMMV.)
