N/A Lancer 2008 build up

Ok well I currently have a manual 2008 lancer. Now im looking at building it up to perform better, but no forced induction. Only n/a parts. Currently have a works exhale exhaust and thinking of ordering a rrm intake v2. What else would u guys recommend? Remember I dont want to go the forced induction route, wanna keep it clean (euro spec) and money isnt really an issue. Oh and no im not buying an evo.

i would wait untill companys start to come out with stonger evo X internals from what ive heard we can use and update our internals with current or aftermarket internals.. that and the ecu reflash right now is going to give you the best performance..

im looking into stronger internals myself..i'd like to build that somewhat up before i go turbo early next year.

I dont really think internals would be that important at the moment since my car wont go the turbo route

na mods on 4 cylindars are a waist of time and money. i learned that the hard way by doing several all motor build ups.

an N/A build on a 4 cylinder is not a waste... i did one myself on a 1996 Saturn SL2 1.9L DOHC... stock Crank HP was 122 and 120 TQ... after the internal mods (8:1 Pistons, Rods, Camshafts, Crankshaft, Pulleys, Fuel Rail, Injectors, Fuel Pump, Headers, Header Back 3" Exhaust, Etc... few more mods) but you get the idea... a full n/a engine build on that car brought me from those stock numbers up to a Crank HP of 236 and 240 TQ... after a chasis dyno it showed 203HP and 207 TQ at the wheels... (Dont ask for a dyno sheet i do not have them anymore)

I planned on going BIG turbo, Garret GTR35 or w/e its called.. thats why i did the engine build... but traded the car in for the lancer.

anyways, dont tell people its a waste because if its done right you can end up with a good hp/tq gain across the power band.

I was thinking the same considering that this lancer engine is still pretty much untouched by aftermarket companies.

As i stated i did a complete build on my previous saturn... if you contact companies that make pistons/rods, camshafts, etc. and give them the size and specs of your stock parts, they will custom make the aftermarket ones for you... NO companies make performance parts for saturn under mass produce.. everything was custom ordered. and it worked out well.

Agreed Khoranic. Never underestimate a N/A car. If engineered right it can give a turbod car a run for its money on a track. Think honda. Its not all about large numbers, its about power delivery and handling too. My 1 friend built a totally N/A impreza that is quite lethal.

Good luck with your N/A build. Do you have a goal set for power?

headers.... I would get headers, and do the complete exhaust... but if you're worried about warranties then I'd do just the headers, but only if you're not in a PZEV lancer.

internals is the MOST important at this point..

i use the example a honda s2k is a 2.0 non turbo n/a motor but yet it puts out 236hp. why? good strong internals

I would definitely recommend the headers and piggy. I'm not quite sure how much power I've gotten from my mods, (haven't dyno'd) but I can tell you it is definitely a significant difference.

all i'm saying is not to get your hopes up for a fast car. even if some how you able to make 200whp. it still will be a very slow car at the stock weight. it will just be slightly more bearable.
