seriously, if you're willing to put 8k in it, why not just trade in for a RA??? you get AWD and turbo. then the sky's the limit for mods.

if you're doing it for "respect" only 10% of people will give you props for such a project. the other 90% will laugh their asses off that you spent so much money to
build a car that costs more than a RA yet is worse than it in evey possible way.

there is NO point in doing this project. just get the damn RA

if you MUST have a manual tranny just wait then....

This is for the older body style lancer rather than your's, but could give you a good idea on cost of N/A mods and what he paid for his build as well as all of the possible things you could consider changing. By the way, I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just trying to be helpful. I'm staying N/A on my old Lancer because of the whole gasoline thing.
