Weight loss

I want to make my lancer faster and I am currently working on a turbo kit but 200hp only gets you so far. I drag race and I am looking to make my car as light as it can be without it looking like crap or stripped. So far I have removed the 2 large rollers. The trunk compartment is stripped to the bone. The mat on the bulkhead and sound deadener under rear seat and in trunk has been removed. The cruse control has be removed along with the A/C. Does anyone know of any other things that can be removed. I will we getting the car weighted in the next couple of weeks. I have the oz package so I know I am a bit more then most. I do not have the money for carbon fiber parts so I am not going that route just yet. But If anyone knows of other weight to get the weight off I would greatly appreciate it.

Passenger seat, all sound equipment, door panels, get lightweight wheels and tires, remove much of the interior panels, it's a matter of how far you want to go.

yah pretty much the headliner, door panels, radio and speakers. if you are going all out than you want to strip everything that is dead weight. and than you also get light weight wheels. that helps also.

Yah you can always get rid of the power steering but you can sometimes do more damage to the rack than you want. they are made to have fluid pushed through them for a reason so that they dont bind up.

I have the oz rally rims and I thought that those were light. What brand/type is out that that is lighter. As for tires I’m currently using tiger pawls. Any suggestions on what type to get for street? And what would be a good gripping DOT approved slick that would fit? Lastly pulled about 10 more pounds today I want to weigh the same a normal lancer. Does anyone know how much the charcoal canister and lines weigh?

Yah that is a good point. i thought about that but i would have to put pistons in to run nitrous on a regular. I think once i get pistons and rods i will get nitrous with the turbo. :P More weight i know. Just depends on $ and how well it grips the track
