stroker kit
any one think about doing a stroker kit instead of a turbo to a 4b12 if i can find the dementions could contact a manufacture if there is enough interest in this they would probably make them. toda makes some of the best kits for a bunch of other cars just asking what you guys think thanks

I think that you would get more out of 4b12 engine by putting a turbo on it. We already have a 2.4L so the main thing I would want to do is P&P the head and put more aggressive cams in it along with a turbo kit. And then you could put a methanol injection kit so you can run high boost.
Yeah, there are no internals for the block yet but I am wondering if the head on the 4b12 is the same as the 4b11. Most shops should be able to P&P a head but I would only go to a shop that is well known.
Some shops that do custom stroker kits will make the pistons when the kit is ordered. I know that the Crower kit is compatible with the 2.4, they just make the pistons for you rather than sending a pre-made kit. Doesn't cost any more from what I understand and by choosing piston size you can change your compression.
I'd recommend doing a lot more to your internals before running meth injection w/ a Turbo thats set for high PSI. Good way to blow the motor.
Do your research, I'm not interested in working up my motor yet so I won't look it up, but certain parts in the motor, IE: Valves, valve springs, cams etc etc are already out there. Maybe heads too.. If you've got the 4B11 then you can pretty much Upgrade to Evo specs since they're already out there. Somebody had to make them for the Evo.. They're out there.

Idk why people keep saying this, but the EVO 4b11t is not compatible with the 4b11. One shop says the cams may work but that shop also can't get their turbo lancer running (last I heard). If you have a 4b11 I wouldn't risk blowing your $15-22,ooo dollar car on high hopes
. Personally I'd rather just turbo kit the lancer, the 4b's respond well to it... That is if you buy the right kit.
Excuse my rudeness, but why the hell would you stroke a 2.4L 4 cylinder? There's a reason why manufacturers aren't in the habit of making 4 cylinder engines larger than 2.4-2.5L. The stroke becomes too long, meaning the engine can't rev worth ****, and further reducing the power band. Yeah, you might make some more torque down low, but you'll completely kill your high end horsepower.

The 4B11t wouldn't be directly compatible with the 4B11, in my eyes (And I am no mechanic do feel free to correct me), mostly because of the tune and the ECU. Those engines are managed differently than our regular 4B11/12's. So, in transferring Evo components into your engine, if you went all the way, you'd likely have to adopt the Evo's ECU as well or get a really good reflash/tune of your own ECU to support the modifications. It's a very smart motor but not smart enough to adapt to that big of a change without some outside help in terms of programming.
Again, this is just my humble opinion.

do your research... this topic has been discussed a thousands times since they've been released. Only one shop has come forward saying there is a slight possibility the cams may work in a turbo'd lancer (same shop has been working on a turbo kit for over a year now, and just barely dynoed their prototype). But as it has been stated the 4b11t's compression ratio is different from that of a NA 4b11.
