swapped to an eclipse 501 MAF
Your NA? I cant get my car to stay out of the rich at just partial throttle. It goes all the way to 10 and below afr. Fouls out my plugs. I guess I could get the MAF scaling values right if I could figure out where in the load units cruise is. Other than that, the only other way to fix it is to mess with my fuel maps. I cant even open it up to WOT because it instantly goes to 10 and stays there throughout the entire rpm range.
To do what? its simple, im sure my problems are probably my own doing. The 501 values work fine, but they rich me out pretty bad with na. Im getting 40 mpg just cruising though
I'm not exactly sure why people are so perplexed with this swap...
Senate, im perplexed with the fact that its dumping large amounts of fuel into my car and riching it out even after I went and triple checked the values after you assisted me in getting the correct endians. I have no idea why its doing it and i just assume i need to tune my fuel maps properly. It worked fine with my last motor but that motor also had a burnt valve and wasnt running properly in the first place. I dont know what the deal is and im just trying to fix it and the MAF scaling values are the only place i can do it without datalogging as i dont have a means to do so right now. Im saving up for a new laptop and after that, life will be alot easier. But for now, all I have is lusion assisting me with MAF values to try and figure out how to correct the issue. Im sorry for causing confusion and I will stop as Im not trying to scare people away from this swap. It is really a good swap to do but the values just arent happening for me. Sorry guys for causing trouble.
Send me a copy of your latest ROM. I can't help but think there is an incorrect value somewhere causing your overly rich condition. Do you have any fuel mods? Larger injectors, fuel pump, FPR, etc.?
The one thought I had is that because you've got some decent headwork is that your airflow reading is higher than most NA Lancers. You might try reducing the values at the higher loads in the MAF scaling table. You'll be able to see how much airflow your MAF is really registering once you start datalogging.
well i didnt put on the head because it had a burnt valve and I had bought a complete engine so i didnt want to mess with it, i just needed a running car. Your suggestion is what im trying as well, ive got a scaling map and im starting at the higher values and working my way down until i hit a cel. I have a scaling map right now that is keeping me at around 12-12.3 at wot but down in the lower rpms is causing some riching trouble still at the lesser loads. The problem was probably from 1/2 throttle to wot. I was having idling issues as well with them bouncing around and not wanting to go below 1k but i changed out my tps and that went away. It didnt fix the rich prob though. Anyways, ill keep you updated via PM so i dont cause any more concern in this thread lol. Ill send you a copy of my final MAF scaling values to look over when I have them too and you can do as you wish with them.
