the newer the cable the more cars it can do support wise. i think the 2.0 can do all evo's now where like the 1.3 there were a few that were missing for support. i was lookin at the 2.0 but i couldnt beat the deal for the 1.3

 

So basically, if a 1.3 works for you, no reason to up it to a 2.0?

 

the only rason fo me to get the 2.0 now is if i get an x or if i find more of a reason to get one. im happy with my 1.3 as of now.

and that was what i was kinda thinking as well since i "tuned" the car on the piggy with the stock 605 and also in november, but as of late until the swap shes been a little thirsty and she felt a little sluggish in the top end. still spools nice and smooth,but the top end is now where it hesitates. maybe ill get to work on it a work tomorrow....

I understand the concept on how the 501 would allow more flow but i have no idea on how to "Flash" the car .

for that you need a special cable from www.limitless.co.nz\cables (i think thats the address) or tatrix.com. once you get that then you can get such programs as evo scan for datalogging and ecu flash which then lets you change values in your ecu.

but just remember when doing so, that you can mess things up really fast, so always make a backup for a failsafe!

 

I wish it was that easy for me , i used to have a piggyback but car ran worst and sold it . But i would like to do this mod just for fun and a tinny gain . But where would i find the values ? Just copy them down from Senate on his picture post ?
So i would need Ecuflash , Wire and EvoScan ?

I would need to change the settings on my Ecu to the settings in the picture on Ecuflash with the wire connected to a laptop while the car is on or off?

yes those are the values that you need to change. senate is like the all knowing zues god around here.

you need to have the car powered to the accessory spot on the ignition to read/write to the ecu.

and yes you need the usb to obd2 mitsu cable from wither one of those sites , ecu flash to actually read/write to your ecu and evo scan is just to datalog but worth the $25 bux for what it does and can do

 

Can anyone give me a link of a good place to buy the open port wire . Not sure i found them on Tactrix but not sure what i need . On there site it also had a memory stick and holder thing .

 

Whats the diff between these 2?

All i need is the 1.3 right ? Would the 2.o make any difference ?

OpenPort 2.0 is only needed if you plan on flashing/logging an Evo X. Lancers only require the OpenPort 1.3 cable. It's as simple as that.
