swapped to an eclipse 501 MAF

Well, I took a hint from senate a while back about upgrading to a eclipse 501 MAF . I swapped the MAF out and used ecuflash to copy all the settings from the eclipse ecu to the lancer ecu. The settings I copied were for the MAF scaling, Maf size , Maf smoothing table and Maf Sensor filtering. Here is a picture of the differences between the two... Senate was there anything else you copied in for the maf swap?

Here is the writeup by senate figured i'd link , looks like he put some time and thought into a very nice post...

Nope, you got it right.

I hope people will stare long and hard at this pic you posted and follow your lead to switch to the 501 MAF. I've been running a 501 MAF since Jan '07 and don't see having it any other way. You will not regret this mod. The picture speaks for itself.

So wait, this just plugs right into our harness and everything? where could I find the values to copy in with the ecuflash?

I have wanted to do this swap since I took mine off the clean. It is so small. I just don’t have ecu flash o can you post the stock eclipse setting for those who have the 501 and ecu flash to scale it.Nice job on the swap

Nope. No adapter required. They are the same exact size. Difference is in the inside. The Mitsu part # is MD336501, if that helps. Just look for the big "501" on the label. The Evo is 399, just for reference.

No brainer to install a maf.
You need a little more to copy values from one ecu to another.

+1

While the MAF install itself is plug and play, if you don't know how to properly use EcuFlash you run the risk of messing up your ROM.

The 501 MAF was found roughly on the following vehicles:

ECLIPSE 00-02
ECLIPSE 03-05 exc. GTS
GALANT 99-03
MONTERO SPORT 99-03 3.0L (6 cyl)
OUTLANDER 03
SEBRING 01-05 (Coupe)
STRATUS 01-05 (Coupe)

After looking through the Mitsu parts lookup last night I realized that the 501 MAF is not limited to 4-cylinder engines. For example, the 501 MAF was used in the 2000-2002 Eclipse GT, which is a V6.

Maybe you know. But some kindergarden kid who read your post may think it's as easy and swap and go.
