I really like to see what happens to some engines. Especially when they blow. I love to see the new parts you use to make it better. Please keep the pictures coming. If you can get new rods please let us all know where you got them. I know the rebuilt mill will rock. Cool!

so when you have a piston cracked like that does the car not even run at all? or does it just smoke a lot or what? also, how do you get the old pistons out from above like that?

im guessing it doesnt accelerate good and gives u lots of smoke

and if u look at the last several pics, the engine was out of the car when he took the pistons out.

well, if the piston is cracked or the ring is crackeed, then your probly not even going to be able to get it to start because of the compression loss

its a pain in the *** to get at the pistons liek that, removing your exhaust manifold, valve covering, intake manifold, pulling off the head to get in there, lol, that was a really general idea of how to do it

No you there are not any cams on the market yet, hopefully if we can keep after the companies and get some performance grinds out there

OK checked the head- One exhaust valve was bent. So I ordered a new valve from dealer today. will be here friday. doing a 3 way valve job plus cleaning the head up. Should be nice. I will post pics of everything before I install. So far this Zex kit has cost me right around $1300.00 including the new piston. Gasket set was $175.00 timing belt was $69.00. and the head work is going to run right at $300. Nitrous is not worth that hassle. So anyway I am also replacing the bearings, according to the dealer, the motor is blueprinted and you have to get the color code for each rod bearing. Just so happens everyone of mine were black #2. those where 22 bucks a piece. I love my car!
