Do you think it is possible to install them and drive 60-90 miles to the tuner?
So will i "loose" Power on the low end and gain some at higher RPM with the stock EVO X cams?
Michael
the valve lift of evo x engine 4B11T are higher than a 4b11 NA?I f You installed cams you will not have problems to get to your tuner , you can drive the car but dont do it agresively.you will gain power thru the entire rpm.

about cvt trannys i doesnot have info about how many power can hold.but i know that 4b11 na with 180 whp brake 1st and 2nd gear easily.this trannys are fragile

Great!
So I'll get header, pulley and basic Flash now and throttlebody and cams later.
I was wondering if there ist still enough clerance between the valve and the piston.

really at only 180whp? and what exactly do you mean by "break"?

also with the tune, if i find someone who does tuning will they know what to do? or do i need a specific tune for these cams that only certain people have?

Break i mean (destroy).it was a 5 speed manual(maybe bad driving). i recommend a mitsubishi tuner or a person that has experience tuning this cars. today a puerto rico lancer 08 gts 2.0 with evo x internals and turbo did 12.5@117mph 1/4 mile with street tires.soon more boost and slick tires .11.5 coming soon

Thats a retardedly high trap speed. I went 104 and that was a 13.1 pass.

Exactly as Yitzac said... in order to install evo x pistons and rods you are going to need an evo x crankshaft too. That with sleeves and injectors and a whole list of add ons is what made a local lancer here do a 12.4 in 1/4 mile with street tires at 18 psi at 117 mph...

thats fast...

what is the difference between the two cranks that makes you have to change them? is rod lenght different? what size is the combustion chamber on the evo x compared to the base lancer. im curious as to what compression you end up with when you swap the evo x pistons into the 4b11.

why did he need to sleeve the block if the pistons just drop right in? its pretty much like building the whole shortblock?

yeah that sucks, theres no way the CVT cant handle 180whp though, the caliber RT has to put somwhere around 160, i doubt any car companies would put a tranny that close to its limit. but who knows.

Nope is not a swap.... thats why he has been able to run just 18 psi at the most at least safely... since on the video post to you tube where they made 386 with 307 tq at 24 or 26 psi the car just lasted 2 weeks before breaking up.... so im guessing this time they are been conservative trying to know where's the limit of the engine...

Besides im on the same route with the crank, rods, pistons, sleeves, cams, intake and exhaust manifolds etc.....
