I have searched and found no definitive answer. I have a 2004 Lancer OZ. I have owned it since it was new. I am in need of a new engine because mine is no bueno. What year Lancer engine will fit my car? I am not looking for a performance upgrade. I am just looking for a stock 2.0L replacement. My car is a 5 speed if it makes any difference. Will any engine from 02-06 work whether the replacement came out of an automatic or manual? Thanks for the help.

 

Is it a 4G69 or a 4G94?

If it is a 2.0 is it more than likely the 4G94 and any lancer 02-03 will have that engine.

02-06 will work for an engine for you.

 

Some of the 05-06 models have a 4G69 though, which is a 2.4 and easily distinguishable.

 

Well if his description is accurate of it being an OZ Rally, then its the 4g94....4g69 are ralliarts, not OZ's.

NoClanSWAT...if you are still unsure based off the model of your car, pop the hood. If it mivec on top of your valve cover, then its a ralliart and a 4g69...If not then its a 4g94

 

New to forum and hoping am reading this right.

So basically my 2003 es snapped a timing belt so my engine is fubar

So it's a manual and I believe 4G94 engine And from what am reading anything up to a 2006 model should bolt straight in

But I cannot bolt a 4G69 into it without working on the transmission and diffs as well

 

any 2002-2007 LANCER engine will fit, they're all the same. except the RALLIART trim. good luck.

I don't think it will, those are two different platforms.

When you say trim you mean body and interior correct. I ask because trim can mean different things in different countries
