I think when most people ask that question which I have in the past also they are thinking in terms of difference's between cam profiles given the same modifications.

E.G. if you have short ram/header/catback exhaust and you put in a stage 1 vs 1.5 vs 2 vs 3 etc what kind of ranges can you expect.

Like:
stage 1 ---------- 10-15hp
stage 1.5 --------- 20-25hp
stage 2------------ 25-30hp
stage 3------------ 40-50.

Now where that power comes in no one can be certain given the variables of that particular setup but it would be nice to be able to get an approximate value.

I have spoken to Mitsiman in the past and I know it's a technical thing as above why he cannot give specific numbers but there has to be approximations. No one can hold you to that if it's an estimate.

I already know what I want to numbers really don't mean anything to me.

Someone posted a link to a company that sells RPW cams, and it generalizes expected gains for each profile. It also explains that you shouldn't do anything more than stage 1 unless you plan on upgrading injectors, valve springs, etc.

Just got in from work, but Urban if you are referring to the RPW website link that someone posted there the generalizations are more for where you will get the power in the power band than how much you can expect. When something says it will improve everything a little "bit" for example in the stage 1, what does that mean?

Anyway I won't take this further OT.
WE haven't had any good NA topics in a while. I don't want to tarnish this one.

As a general rule when I refer to a stage 1 improving everything everywher ea little bit I basically mean the car will have slightly more low and mid range torque, more top end horsepower and definitly higher rpm level and breathing.

When you are talking about fitting a stage 1 turbo / supercharger cam to a vehicle then teh differecne is even more profound because you are now fitting an optimised camshaft for your application over a stock one so you have both improved profiles as well as a camshaft specifically working with your application.

Start talking supercharger / turbo etc and the gains given are even more murky.

The only real way is to send me an email when lokoing at purchasing a camsahft, give me a list of your mods done to date / in the future and I can advise on

(A) What amshaft profile is suitable for your application
(B) What mods I recomend you do before / during and after to maximise camshaft gains

This is usuallly the best way.
