Oil and noise question

Hey guys, I recently changed my oil and now my engine is very slightly louder. It sounds kind of top end noise, like lifter noise or something, pretty similar to the video in this thread. The engine is very near 110k miles, so it might be due to wear, but what do you guys think I can do to get the noise to settle down? Will adding some heaver weight oil help? Like 5w-20? I recently changed to oil with some full synthetic 0W-20. Any advice is appreciated.

What oil is spec'd for the Lancer? The older Evo requires a 10w/30. There are cases where we can run heavier oil which may be needed in very high heat duties (track or high ambient temps)

Both the label under the hood an AllData say that the weight for a 2013 lancer ES is 0W-20. I live in MN, so it's definitely the opposite of high heat here for 3/4th of the year. I'm just wondering if maybe adding some 5w-20 will help with the noise. I believe it's an SOHC, so I'm not sure if a heavier oil would help.

Based on your location, seems like the 0W is better for those cold startups. I doubt changing to a 5W will help w/this new noise. Maybe its just due to running a synthetic? I take it you were not running synthetics prior?

If wear is a concern, you can always do a Blackstone oil analysis

Got the car used. This is the first oil change I've ever done on it. The oil certainly did look like it was conventional oil. I'm guessing it is probably just from the switch to synthetic, as it's not a pinging or anything of that nature that I'm super duper worried about. I'll post again soon, Gonna go make a vidjya so you can hear the sound too.

Small point of note: this is actually quite a bit louder than it normally is, it seems to be because I am parked on a slight incline due to space limitations. They won't be an issue after Sunday and I'll be able to park back on flatter ground. I don't know why the slight incline increases the noise so much, but it does. Maybe I should add a little more oil since the line is almost exactly in the middle between the two holes in the dipstick. Anyway,
On a small, unrelated tangent, could youtube shorts just go die in a fire already? I had to use a dumb workaround to make that video show up normally from that link.

Watched the Vid. Listening for odd noises via Vids are not easy especially when comparing a before & after. Wonder if it quiets down after its fully warm?

Yes. It does quiet a bit when warm. I'm wondering if I should try adding like .2Q more of oil since it's right in the middle. If I remember, Monday I'll take a video before I drive to work, when I start it cold, and then after it has warmed up. Monday I will also be on flatter ground as well.

100k+ miles is a lot of miles for any engine, four cylinder engines in particular and especially if you look at how people drive around here, so it may just be noisy cause it's old.

If you have a 4B** series engine, it's normal that it rattles like a rattle. There are no distribution channels in the engine, and the oil simply spreads out on the shafts. Oil for example for the 4B11 5w20 engine, it was on this oil that the engine was designed( idemitsu oil). Worse, if it does not rattle, then the oil does not lubricate parts and assemblies. And these engines have "cups" on the valves, when they wear out, the rumble becomes stronger.
