Maybe I just need to read more on it. I just wonder how it all ties together. T.B. are really complementary mod to other mods. Alone is it going to be so great? Not knocking it just need to know why quad is so great.

cause you dump much more fuel and air into the engine at once, giving it the combustion properties of bigger engines.

well put pimpson moe air and fuel equals more combustion = more HP all depends and the eficientcy of your engine head more air flow is more gain also doesnt hurt engine like force induction does .

Quad is Fuel injected version basing its concept like the 4-barrel carby.

We all have driven single carby within our life-time. Few have driven duel-barrel carby, but it's extremely rare to drive 4-barrel. The latter is a monster. Of course, in modern times, they have FI carby like in the Grand National. Yes, those cars can beat a C4 Vette.

David from RPW is back online (BEen extremely busy lately especially with a bunch of turbo kits and qaud TB kits for people every where so I was off line for a while).

Anyway any questions on qaud I am more than happy to answer so fire away at me.

Wow! Fuel injection? Quad Throttle Bodies are FI? Crazy!? I never knew that. Hey bahamut, or anyone that knows, what are some things to look out for if you run quads. Also what are the pro's and con's??? Thanks!

Fuel tuning and overall engine management. Gotta get those JUUUUST right or you're not driving that thing...that'd be my biggest concern. As for not knowing the quads were FI'd, I don't think someone who ran with an FI car all there life would suddenly switch to a carby (that is 'cept for possibly the AE86 guys)...they wouldn't know how to tune the nozzles and what not!

i hope that was a joke...if it wasnt...the car came with a single port throttle body...youre just adding 3 more ports to make a quad throttle body...yes it is FI

Carbs have to stand straight up were throttle bodies can lay on theyre sides and the fuel is not inserted in throught the throttle bodies like carbs...the throttle body is just for contolling the airflow

correct me if im wrong...to which I believe that I am not

You're correct.

I'm not saying Quad is carby, just similar in principle cramming more air to burn w/ matching gasoline. Also, you do know the modern carby does use FI. There is a conversion kit to make it more efficient, instead of normally wasteful.

As for TC, the RPW guy will speak on that . . . I'm sure he has been asked hundreds of time on the same Q about TC'ing a Quad. I just can't remember what he said on the past mirage board.

to TC a quad TB you need to have 2 seperate computer fuel systems...one for when you driving not in boost..and one for driving in boost. this is extreamly hard to do which means the car will not be street drivable...its only for racing where you are always in high rpm's. in low rpm's the car would not know how much fuel and air it would be getting so it wouldn't idle for sh*t.
