why would you have to get a turbo? that doesn't even make sense. Mitsuman, I emailed vision imports and they said the twin and quad t.b. weren't ready yet. When can we expect them?

Okay first question first - no we have not fitted a set of qauds to a 4G94 yet. They would work exactly the same for a 4G94 as they would for a 4G93, 4G15 etc. The 4G94 would perform better though purely because of its larger capacity motor and greater torqye and hence, need for greater air supply.

WE can manafacture the qaud systems anytime. Dyno figures are impossible to obtain due to the sheer number of variations in the vehicles.

I have always stated that a set of qauds on a stock car with stock equirpment would be of no value. The min specs for qauds for any car is extractros (Must be 4-1 to match the tuned design prinicple of a independant runner system manifold), exhaust, camshaft and hence qauds.

As always the more mods the better qauds go including compression increasing as qausd love 11.0 : 1 CR. When used with the Haltech programmable computer, you have complete control over ignition timing and can tune to suit any fuel.

Qauds can be made to suit any turbocharged car the problem is you need a very sophisticated computer to run in TPS programming mode off boost and then run in MAP sensor mode on boost. Can be done but only by the top of the range programmable comptuers and overtuned for a street car.

We have already began manafacturing of vernier cam gears (Look teh same as the 4G93 cam gears we make), camshafts, valve springs and of course extractors.

You can of course run a NOS system with the qauds very effectivly but need to of course run four independant sprayers.

WIth the twin throttle bodies we can make them also anytime but with teh Lancer running a MAF sensor you would have to go to a programmable computer on that as well.

Basically at this stage we are awaiting the first person to want either system. I am sure the 1ST PERSON TO ACTUALLY ORDER with vision woudl get a surprise on the price as I know that vision imports are keen to promote any new developments on any Mitsbishi car adn the first car to run a new product for the first time is always something they are keen to promote.

Hint ... Hint ....

Hey mitsiman I have a some last minute questions about your quad throttle for my lancer I wanted to know what I would need to make at leats 100 more whp with hte quads without the use of NOS and what would I need I know you don't price em out but i want to know the materials/parts needed for such an upgrade . I will be buying most of it by December and will be installing shortly after since i'm doing other suspension and tranny mods on my automatic lancer but I will need to schedule dyno tunes to get this baby done right and also how much HP will my ride make with the high compression pistons and what conpression do you reccomend for the 4g94 . Thank you for all your time

Don't forget to replace the conrods and the head gasket with nice strong pieces or you'll have lot more to worry about with that high compression setup than simply tuning it.

Qaud System

I woudl run approx 11.0 : 1 CR with the qaud system and teh Haltech. Qauds love compression.

Stock conrods would be more than fine (This isn't a turbo) as long as you shot peen, balance, resize and fit with ARP conrod bolts.

Restroke the crank, bore motor out to approx 2.2 litre would help a lot.

Being the 4G9 engine also consider a mivec head conversion would take some work but be beneficial.

Now thats a thought - 2.2 litre Mivec qaud throttle body vehicle. Sends shivers down teh spine.
Can be done.

The only suggestion is work your way through it slowly. Start with the breathing, extractors, qauds and computer. Then decide on the platform modified bottem end with what type of head setup.

I've read the 4g9 2.0 block is at maximum bore already unless sleeves are added. Any truth to that?

No salvage yard will just part a 2nd gen MIVEC cly head, making the block virtually valueless. They're going to make you buy the whole engine.

Sounds promising...too bad a mvec couldnt just drop in with little mods..but pigs dont fly either so neither one looks too promising.

The head swap sounds good. I just might go by a motor out of a totalled lancer so i can play with it and mod it while i still drive the OZ around

It looks like we may be able to source the Mivec head assemblies from Japan complete or partially complete then fit our own valves, valve springs and camshafts to it which you want to upgrade anyway so why pay for somehting that is going to be replaced anyway.

As for teh rest of the conversion there would be some time spent sourcing timnig belts etc but it can be done very effectlvily.

WIth the engine the combination of say a 0.040" bore oversize with some stroking of the crank would get you up to 2.2 litres. No matter what they do to the engine block they have to by law allow up to a 0.040" piston to be able to be fitted to the engine block.

would we need to replace the pistons and conrods as well will this get expensive I mean n/a is ultimatly more expensive but more stable and what gains can you theoreticly say i can get from this hybrid solution

YOu would need to change pistons if you are running N/A because qauds and mivec want high compression so you would need to get some custom forged 11.5 : 1 pistons made to run either system effectivly.
