If it is the noise I think it is, I had the same problem when my cam was installed. How much lubricant do you have in there because from the picture there is hardly much at all.

It took my car a good 5 mins or so of idling and slight revving to re-lubricate the lifters.

Read this here to see if I decribed the same sound.

What lubricant would I have to use? Just regular oil? Or camshaft lubricant?
Just pour the oil on the lifters?

thx for help by the way

YOu really should get your engine builder to handle these types of things for you.

The guy who worked on my engine is out of business for now. I'm still trying to resolve the issue with him but as of now it just impossible. He will not work on it.

I'm trying to fix it myself by doing a lot of research on-line. I'm a student, my warranty is out, and this spring I'm buying a new apartment. < OT

So far the only two things that could make that stupid noise are valve lash adjusters or lifters.
I did check the valve lash adjusters and they are really hard, how they are supposed to be.
After doing some more research I found out that the other thing that could cause the noise are my lifters.
How do I lubricate them?

It doesn't seem like a really big problem because my engine is running. Gas mileage is OK. Spark plugs are OK. No visable damage.
At some point I just wanted to blow the f#$%^$#@ out but he still runs great
I have been driving like this for about 4months now reving it up to like 6.3k rpm and it still runs great.

I just need to fix the annoying tractor noise!!!

Like I said before the only thing that works (5mins) is Valve Medic by Gunk.

Damn. I'll be very interested to hear the numbers.

Mustang, DynoJet, etc? Which one you running? I'd love if it was Mustang, since I'd be able to compare with my old runs.

Thx, it sux that I didn't get an exhaust manifold and a new fuel map but that is all in progress. I will be doing more of those dyno runs since they are really not that expensive and it's cool to have NT Lancers going NA route. And + I need to wait for the best parts, like RPW's new intake manifold and maybe RIPP's new exhaust manifold (if in fact it's true they are making one).

Bump for update.

After almost a year everything seems to be fine. 1st gear my car pulls really nice and it even looses grip in on the end of the first gear and beginning of the the 2nd. I might get a video or something but it really looks cool when you floor it in the 1st gear; 5k rpm you can feel your tires spinning, 6krpm still spinning, shift, 2nd spinning, grip, shoots the car to the left and go. I have raced with couple of lancers and on the highway there are no problems. On a regular street it seems kind of weird, sort of too slow. Oh, and when it's really cold, the engine under WOT sounds really nice, kind of like subaru but not really.
