The pistons were built with reliefs so stock clearances were kept. That being said you should be able to put in any cam they offer with no clearance issues. If you do go past their stage 1 cam you will need two things... better valve springs and the cam gear.

and probably some kind of fuel control as well

I must be insanely lucky. I've gotten quotes of $500-750 and most recently $400.

DJ update - have pistons, have spark plugs. Need to buy new belts and make appt. for install.

*sigh* OK.

What's the break-in period? Did you get it from Road/Race, or just kinda your own idea?

First nothing over 4k rpm, after 500miles nothing over 5k rpm, 750 change the oil and it's on

^ Boeturbolancer and I think RRM said the same thing

You have to follow it otherwise you will brake the pistons or the rings could pop off.

Just a little note : Boeturbolancer is the man! He helped me with everything regarding pistons and my ride so if you need help he is the guy to talk with.

Oh, Boe knows me. I'm sure he cringes whenever he sees a PM with my name.

Good to know. Thanks.

So, the pistons ......

On the scale of 1(blah) - 10(yeah!) I am giving N/A high compression pistons 8
The first day I got my car back it felt exactly the same way it used to be before. It sounded a little bit loud, like if someone just started it in a cold weather. When I pressed the gas pedal it sounded even louder but only to a certain point. My mechanic will have to look at that to see if it's something that needs to be fixed or not. Either way the noise does not bother me much and since it doesn't cause any problems it's just fine. The brake in period went very fast. First week was very long since I could not feel any difference between stock pistons and high compression. After few more days I was finally able to reach 5k rpm. WOW, it feels like some kind of a VTEC. 3k---------4k--5k rpm
At 5k rpm you could hear the different sound of an intake. The top end is just awesome! The only bad thing about it are flat spots!!! 2nd gear pulls ok but there is something missing, 3rd is better but on the end it's like 2nd and then 4th and 5th ROCKS!!!
My brakes are worn out since I am not used to catching up speed so fast.
Another thing is when you drive on the highway at 3.5k rpm in a 5th gear and push the gas pedal rpm goes slowly but the speedometer is moving pretty darn fast!
My stock exhaust is now purring like a little cat.
Pretty soon I will tune everything with a Emanage. Right now I'm running 44psi of fuel and it seems like it's not enough.

Thx RRM for a great product. It's expensive (install) but well worth it. Not only you will get extra ponies but also a 'new engine' (what I wanted).

Thx for ROB (RRM), BOETURBOLANCER, OMAR(Omarboy25) for all the help.
BOETURBOLANCER really spend a lot of time answering my PMs. With all the stuff I was going through Boe was the one who spend the most of his time helping me out. REAL THX BOE

Interesting review, but very odd statement here. The pistons didn't change any drive ratios in the transmission or drivetrain anywhere... The relationship between engine RPMs and car speed for any given gear is exactly the same as it was before. The only difference the pistons make is how fast those needles go upp and if one of them is going up faster now, both of them are.

^With stock pistons it was such a b$tch to get somewhere in the 5th gear. Now, I don't even have to downshift to get to the speed I want to be at.
In which gear are you hitting 100mph??? What year is your Lancer? Mods?
^only manual trans

I want to check something^
