tein? never heard of em'....not too down with GC either...they are releasing all these ****ty/mediocre coilcovers but not struts/shocks...im really waiting for some H&R coilcovers/springs and some KYB AGX shocks...

The best we can do with KYB is show em there's demand and then wait. The response I got from them was the same. Those AGX's forced me to change pants twice though. I shoulda known better than to click refresh

 

so no good shocks anytime soon? *sighs* what are we going to do when everyone buys new springs and all their stock shocks/struts fail?

Hello all
I want to say that I have been checking into whether Rpw has any parts ready for the 4G94 as yet. I am not sure if this has been posted in this thread already. I previously had a rappore with one of their Managers as this is what he has said recently in a post on the Mirage Message board about headers (extractors) for the US lancer.

"We are checking now but our extractors and turbo kits will fit the 4G94 engine. The only thing we have to check is the block height which may mean we need to extend our extractors / dump pipes another 1/2 " to clear the sump but otherwise it will all bolt up.

The 4G94 camshafts are also the same as the 4G93 although I am not sure on what the grind is although being mitsubishi probably the same grind. The head is the same though, the only difference is the engine block height and stroke, and manifolds intake with a new style throttle body.

thats awesome news, all we need to find out now is adjustable cam gears and maybe a good ignition system....im thinking MSD SCC with some nology hot wires and bosch platinum 4 spark plugs, that would be a good setup.

 

The Sport Compact Ignition (SCI) from MSD won't work on the Lancer. The Lancer is distributorless and the SCI works on cars with distributors. The unit to get would be the MSD DIS-2. It's only a bit larger than the SCI and will be able to plug into the twin coils the Lancer has without any extra investment.

 

ok.......what exactly does the MSD DIS-2 do?? please explain
also......does it increase horsepower/torque? if so.....around how much of a gain does it give?

Ignitions work by changing the firing timing of your spark plugs for better combustion/performance. That's the short and sweet of it.

I will be checking in on your forums so anyone who wishes to enquire on RPW products etc feel free to forward questions to "Mitsiman".

As some of you may know we have been working hard with the Mirage owners (Refer to the mirage forum) and have been supplying proven performance items to them for several years. I am sure if you ask around you will find that our products have a very well known name and respect for qaulity.

Anyway whilst I probably won't be able to help the EVO guy's much as we do tend to specialise in Naturally aspirated components, we can certainly help with the 2.0 4G94 engines as we are already releasing gear for that model right now including cam gears etc.

This is good news, ive heard good things about RPW but i have not had the opportunity to purchase any of their parts....im very anxious to buy a clutch and flywheel, and maybe some stage 2 cams but i think that a little more info, when its ready,would show buyers you guys are serious. I think the idea that no other company has used mirage parts on a lancer is giving people the false impression that you guys are merely hoping their parts will fit the US lancer, and so i think that if you could post some news when the research is done, you guys could have a large number of buyers.

 

That is a fair comment and the reason why Mitch from APParts and Phantom Racing are both researching and testing the lancer model know and checking clearances etc. If anyone would like to aid in this (And maybe get a discount) then contact APParts and volounteer your services and I am sure they would be more than happy to deal with you.

But again, our familiarity with Mitsubishi is such that I do know that the majority of our gear off the mirage will fit the lancer models. This is too obvious from our work with fact that the 4G91 / 4G92 / 4G93 engines all run the same exhaust manifold pattern in intake and exhaust. This stands to reason then that the 4G94 is going to also be the same. The main difference is again, the block height which we will alter on our headers to accomodate and suit all the models incl 4G94.

I will keep everyone posted though.
