Welcome Dave

Hello Dave it's WadadliG from the mirage message board.

I just want to reiterate the sentiments that people understand that you are a Mitsubishi specialist i.e. dealing with all models of mitsubishi engines and vehicles. I too hope APParts and you all can get things together so we can get the same things I saw people satisfied with on the Mirage board.

I live on the East Coast though so I will have to wait until you get the research done.

I'm going to be adding the AP/RPW parts to the spreadsheet hopefully by the end of the week once I get a reply from 'em on what exactly will fit to the Lancer.

Well, we're getting springs, but we lack some high performance struts...so that's where Tokico comes in

http://www.tokicogasshocks.com/index.html

No email addy that I could find but they've got a phone number. Anyone who's at home would like to try, please do.

"Hi, I have been considering a purchase of the new Kaminari lancer kit but I was wondering if you have anything in store for the lancer in the near future, I want to shop around before i make my purchase, thanks."

Reply:
"Thank you for your inquiry.

At this time, we offer a spoiler. Plans for a body kit are in the distant future."

New Target

Brembo. I wrote Brembo about a stock rotor replacement (replaces the rotor with a higher grade alloy, and it is either cross drilled or slotted, which invariably improves braking greatly without the cost of a big brake kit: $500+ > $80 per pair), and this is the response I got:

We do not
currently have any plans on offering an upgrade for your vehicle at all
due to a very lackluster market demand.

Now, for those of you wanting a big brake kit, don't plan on getting it. Unless we can make the market demand more than "lackluster." Let's tear up the communication lines.

BREMBO REPLY TO ME:

We have already prototyped a system to the Lancer. We are currently evaluating the market demand for such a system. This system would be front-only, with 328 x 28mm cross-drilled discs and four piston calipers with pads, as well as brake lines and caliper mounting brackets.

This kit can be ordered on an individual special order basis for $2,395.00

As posted elsewhere, this is the worst deal in the history of mankind. Check this out:

I'm betting that we do have a cross-drilled and slotted rotor made by DBA
for the Lancer but I don't have US specs. Can you get me these? I am
assuming you are looking for a stock replacement.

If not, we can make a kit to spec if you prefer. Something with a 4 piston
caliper and 13" rotor. This is usually around $1000.00 if you are
interested.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Sounds strangely familiar to the Brembo offer... but at half the price!

BTW, if anyone has this information on the specs he's looking for, please, tell me.

Brake Upgrade

RPW already provides a front and rear EVO Brake upgrade for the Mirage which should also fit the Lancer model without any drama's.

This kit replaces the front discs with EVO GSR front disc rotors and twin calipers (Albiet they aren't brembo) which are a 265mm front rotor, cross drilled and supplied with EBC Green Stuff Kevlar brake pads.

The rear disc conversion kit replaces teh rear brakes with 235mm rear discs with twin calipers, handbrake cable, brake master cylinder etc.

Alternativly we do also manafacture a 330mm front disc upgrade for the mirage / lancer as well.

All of the above are cross drilled and slotted rotor systems with Kevlar brake pads.

I don't understand when they say there is no demand - we are selling these brake upgrades all the time in Australia.

What is the pricing on these systems?

And I think that the reason behind Brembo's line of bullsh*t is that they are simply not wanting to divert attention away from the only other mitsu product they are doing big: the VII. I think it's a load of crap, but, I think my theory has logic, and kind of pisses me off.

I think that as long as companies like Precision and RPW are stepping up to the brake plate, Brembo is gonna lose business. Their demeanor and attitude sure has made me walk away, and not look back.

RPW BRake Upgrde

Not passing the buck here guy's but I don't set the price so for pricing you would need to enquire from one of my USA Distributors. APParts is usually the best for this - you have his website listed on your links section. THere is a page there devoted to brake systems including our brake systems.

Nice posts on brake upgrades. Problem is for those of us who own an OZ Rally and have a 114.3x4 instead of the Mirage/Lancer ES bolt pattern of 100x4.

It's not a turbo...

...but it is a supercharger. I emailed Jackson Racing about possibly putting out a supercharger for the Lancer last night but no response. Anyone else want to email them so I don't sound like a lonely lunatic to them?

jacksonracing@mossmotors.com

There's the addy and please, as always...make it tactful, respetctful, etc.

A reply and a request

We do not make a supercharger for that application. Sorry I could not be of
further assistance.

Subject: '02 Lancer

Would it be possible to see an application from JR for the '02 Mitsubishi
Lancer? As you may know, the Lancer is underpowered and there is a
burgeoning aftermarket for the car. However, there is no upgrade of true substance like a turbo or supercharger as of yet. From a company like JR with as good as a reputation as it has in the tuning field, support for the Lancer would be greatly received should the company produce a supercharger.

Ok, so the guy wasn't much help so I emplore anyone with a free minute or two and try and get at least a genuine yes, no, or even a we'll think about it. Next up...somebody(s) get the ball rolling on Tokico, KYB, and Koni...been busy lately and lord knows I can't do all this on my own. Finally, for those who've requested a spreadsheet and I haven't sent them one, I've been busy as hell so I haven't had time to keep track of it all (another reason why I need to put it on a webpage). Regardless, I'm disregarding all requests for the sheet in the last week and if you want one, EMAIL me please...PM's are to cumbersome to deal with multiple inquiries that way. Thanks.
