sweet, i was wondering how well it'd work on an auto.

I guess I place my order in the next month.

I have an auto and there is quite a big differance over the stock pulley. well worth the 100 bucks. So stop talking yourself out of it and buy the thing.

Rob, this might seem like a silly question but it's been on my mind. ever since i changed my pulley i have been having problems with belt tension. i get the tension correct and then on cold and/or rainy days the belts squeel. so i figured "hey, i geuss they are a tad to loose" and up'd the tension an extremely small amount...then the bearing on the generator races and squeeks (yet the belt squeeling goes away). both belts were brand new about 4k miles ago. so my question is:

1.) if one problem is compromised for another, which would be the safer route; leaving the belt to squeel 1-2x's a week OR letting the bearing on the alternator race due to high tension?

2.) the OEM and RRM pulley are obviously different materials. could it be that the OEM pulley provided a little more friction between the belts then the aluminum one?

i highly doubt it's #2 but i'm just trying to think of any possible explanations. i love my RRM pulley and i have no complaints about it. i just want to utilize it's full potential. can you help me out?

Did you change to a new belt. I think a new belt would perform more consistently. Pulley itself is not going to have qualities any different than stock regarding grip or tension issues.

Not sure then. Just play with tension. Rule of thumb we use is.... 1/4 play up and down. Any more or any less and you are off!

you told me that in a PM a while back and ever since i've been within a 1/4 play maybe the belts that Advanced Auto sells just aren't the same quality as mitsu's OEM parts. the belt seemed kind of, iunno....plasticy??? let's just say it didn't seem very durable. maybe i'll get a new set of belts from the dealer and see what happens.

the belts i got for our minivan squeeks and that's completely stock. I think your problem is with Advance Autoparts. That's where I got those belts. Buy the mitsu ones. It should fix the sqweek
