A tune up is basically have the oil changed, spark plugs changed, and have a mechanic look over the engine and suspension to make sure its alright. No air, isn't a big deal, but the idling is kinda bad.

Your car is actually a very nice one. All it needs is some care. I dont recommend you take it to any shops to have repaired... Try to make some friends who know a little about cars and can help you fix it yourself. If you take it to a shop they will definitely rip you off, especially since you asked what a tune up was. I dont know if resetting the ECU will do anything but have you tried that for the idle problem? As far as the PO421 and PO135 codes go those are probably issues with the headers and exhaust which can be fixed.

The piston won't explode, it'll melt. My car ran lean after I incorrectly installed an intake manifold (must have had a leak) and I ended up replacing a sensor, all the spark plugs, 4 valves, all the pistons and piston rings, and had to have my block bored. Basically, on the stock motor lean is very very bad.

You shouldn't be running lean with the mods you have.

PO421 Warm Up Catalyst

PO171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)

PO135 O2 Sensor Heater Malcunction

does PO171 mean Im running lean or something else then?

man that sucks that ECU messed up your car like that because of a little leak..

I think the PO171 code means you're running lean in cylinder 1, but I'm not too sure whats causing it. The header definitely isn't causing it, since thats on the other side of the engine, it might be the chip or piggyback that doing that.

rrm sells a quick fix for that.

the other code esp. the o2 heater malfunction may just be the the first sensor going bad that would also give the lean code if the o2 is not getting a good reading

but as for the piggy (first congrads its like a $400 mod) it sounds like its working fine so leave it alone for now.
I remember John Slow ES saying this. did some research on the web there are some cases which match up to what he said.. not sure will find out when I get the CEl elminator.. and maybe a new O2 sensor

The P0171 code is a bad O2 sensor code according to what I was told and what I have researched here on Evom. The auto parts store told me the same thing.

There isn't much info about it in Lancer forums but if you search the Evo forum you pull up all kinds of codes.
