i guess some eve owners get dumb.. its like comparin a civic to an NSX.. we know that our lancers is in the "econo" car level.. we are not even close to an evo.. but hey.. i think lancers are actually better than regular civics.. some civic owners get cocky to because they have B-series engines, which is a totally different story again.. but civic 4door versus a lancer 4door, i would take the lancer... i guess you just have high standards.. the lancer is an alright econo car.. and if were talkin about cars in its class.. the lancer isnt actually THAT slow..
well i think is a fun car to drive, specially when turning, it accelerates the most, at stock is a cow, but if u modd it, ull get way better than stock thats for sure!, and also if u think about it civics all got vtec we have mivec ,but our engines dont have vavle timing ,so can this hurt us ,is this why our cars are so slow?

I can't remember who posted this and i'm not entirely sure what it entails, but i heard that our gearing ratios in the lancer put us in the ranking of other cars rated with 20 or 30 more horsepower at the crank. so basically some civics and proteges and what not
You can't really compare a Civic to a Lancer- and I'm sure when people think racing and Civic they think CRX or at least the 2 door Civics. Civics are lighter and the engine responds better to basic mods (from what I've been told, never owned one). Now if the 4G94 engine was dropped into a Mirage coupe, kept the G93 IM and had the same gearing (which I like overall) and OZ suspension, you'd have a respectable little car... and that DIDN'T get compared to the fricking evo at every opportunity. Shizz everytime I go racing they say "there's the baby evo on track" 
As for the list of weakness I'd say weight (but what're you gonna do, it's a sedan), then intake restrictions, restrictive cam, 2 cats, crimped exhaust and the name "Lancer" they really should have stuck with "Mirage" but Mitsu wanted to pre-hype the Evo- That's all stuff that could have been designed out of the car before they went to production. Weak pistons are only an issue for boosting or really messing an NA tune
